Should crowns for my upper front four teeth be done only privately

Thursday, June 18th, 2009
Q.
I am in need of crowns fitting to my upper front four teeth and my dentist has quoted me 1400 pounds for the job, which as a student is a terrifying prospect. He said it will have to be done privatley but didn’t explain why. Is my dentist just trying to make money out of me or is there a limit to how much treatment you are allowed through the NHS?

I was mentioned that my 12 year old son has many baby teeth, should I be worried now?

Sunday, June 14th, 2009
Q.
My son’s dental staff made remarks to him that he still has “many” baby teeth for being 12. They also mentioned it to me, but didn’t provide clarification–just alarmed us both. So, when do I worry or do I? And if you have any insight about why a grownup professional would do this to a 12 year old kid, I’d like that, too. Thanks for your great site.

what can go wrong with dental veneers

Monday, June 30th, 2008
Q.
I have just visited a private dentist who told me that veneers would last 15-20years and cost about 7k, is this correct? After this time do the veneers fall off and what will my teeth look like then? Should I visit more than one dentist to gain a 2nd opinion? What can go wrong with this procedure.
