My mother has dental phobia and we want quick solution for her missing teeth

Monday, March 30th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki, I hope that you can help me…. My Mother has always been plagued by dental problems for as long as I can remember, 15-16 years ago many of her front teeth were chipped decayed and rotten, she was scared stiff of the dentist but over time decided to go and get partial dentures fitted. She is now 70 years of age and her one remaining front tooth has just dropped out, she is happy to just leave it now, but it is my Sisters wedding next April, and she is upset that her mother will be toothless in the photos. My Mother is scared of visiting the dentist again, convinced nothing can be done and that it will be painful, and we can’t afford expensive implants or even to redo her dentures. Are there any economical temporary solutions that would be a Happy Compromise for my sisters big day? I would be very grateful if you could advise me. Happy New Year

could I have a full denture before my ‘bone’loss resulted in my face changing shape

Sunday, March 29th, 2009
Q.
I have been wearing a partial denture for some 5 years and have been told by my national health dentist that I am losing ‘bone’ from my remaining teeth, I asked if I could have a full denture before my ‘bone’loss resulted in my face changing shape, and was told that under the national health I would have to wait until my teeth decayed or became loose before any action would be taken. I hate the way my partial denture looks and feels. Could you please advise Thank you

I had dental crown for my top front two teeth

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009
Q.
I had dental crown for my top front two teeth before. They had been 12 years. For some reasons and the policy of the dental insurance, I recently have had partial dentures for that two teeth. I have been feeling difficulites to chew the food and dentures would fall out themselves. The metal frame of the dentures makes me feel not comfortable all the time. I am so regret to have this surgery. Should I talk to the dentist about the issue of the dentures and Is there any way I can do if I want a treatment of dental crown? Thank you for your advices.

Thursday, December 4th, 2008
Q.
I knocked my four front top out approximately 6 months ago during an epileptic fit and i have since been wearing dentures. Does the amount of time since the injury have any bearing as to whether implants are possible? Thank you for your time.

What is the cost of replacing all my teeth with false teeth

Thursday, August 14th, 2008
Q.
I have not been to a dentist for the last 20 years as I had a very bad experience as a child and have been afraid to go back since. I know that my teeth are in a very bad condition. I was wondering whether I would be able to have all my teeth removed and have false teeth to replace them all and if so then how much would this cost?

My new denture is uncomfortable can I have one that is like my old one

Saturday, May 31st, 2008
Q.
Dear Komal, I have just finished a series of dental treatments to replace a broken partial denture. My dentist recommended a metal frame denture.I found it so uncomfortable that i stopped wearing it and reverted to wearing my old broken one. I asked the dentist if I could just have a denture as identical to my old one as possible. It looked similar when it arrived but was also totally unwearable. The dentist assured me the bite was perfect, but i can’t wear either of them. The main difference i can see between my original denture and the new one is that the material used is so much thicker. my old denture was so comfortable i hardly knew it was there. So i have paid for two new dentures and can’t wear either of them.Is it possible to have a denture made that is identical to my old one?
