How Much Would It Cost to Have an Upper Implanted Denture?

Monday, November 14th, 2016
Q.

Can you tell me if you can provide sedation, and just a ball park price for an implanted upper denture? I just want to get an idea, I understand that many issues can affect the price, but I would still like to know, thank you. I will need 5 upper teeth removed, and I also would like one implant in my lower jaw. I do have a partial upper denture at the moment, but I have found I just cannot get used to them.

What Options do I Have to Replace my Partial Denture?

Friday, March 6th, 2015
Q.

I’ve just had an old bridge removed as it kept getting infected so I’ve now got a partial denture to replace the three missing teeth. It is already annoying me and giving me headaches. I just can’t wait to get it out of my mouth. It’s the left front tooth then the two next to it. I do have other teeth at both sides but the strain from the denture on my other front tooth is worrying me as it aches when I take the denture out. Could you advise me on what options I have and the cost?

Can I Have a Set of Veneers Fitted Over a Partial Plate?

Tuesday, February 24th, 2015
Q.

Hello. I have three crowns at front of my mouth and have three teeth missing, for which I wear a partial plate for the missing teeth. My question is, can I have a set of veneers fitted over this and what would it entail to have this done? Also what would it all entail to achieve this and what might be the cost for total treatment? Thank you.

I Have A Broken Milk Tooth Which Won’t Grow Back. Should I Remove It Or Leave It?

Monday, October 6th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I’m wondering if you can help me? I am 18 years old and I have a milk tooth in front of my mouth which is broken half way down and I was told by my dentist that if I removed the tooth it won’t grow back. I don’t know what to do should I remove it or leave it? Please I need your help or advice. I would be very grateful if you come to my aid. Which cosmetic treatment would help me fix half a tooth?

It’s Too Painful To Wear My Partial Denture. What Would It Cost To Have My Remaining Teeth Removed And Replaced With Dental Implants?

Thursday, August 7th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr. Moore. I have a big problem with my teeth, they hurt all the time. My dentist has X-rayed them and checked them and there is nothing wrong with them. He took the front top ones out and this relieved the pain for a while. I have a partial denture but I can’t wear it for longer than half an hour and I certainly can’t eat with it in. The few teeth I have left are now hurting again and I wondered what it would cost me to have them all removed and implants done, I am on disability benefits so I would need a payment plan, please can you help or advise me. Thank you.

Is It Customary For A Dentist To Use A Crown As An Anchor For A Partial Denture?

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014
Q.

Hello Marcus. My dentist attached my partial denture to a crown. When I pulled off the partial, the crown came with it! Is it customary or even prescribed to use a crown as an ‘anchor’ for a partial? If I had realized the anchor was a crown when preparing for the partial, I would have objected! My dentist maintains that the partial was a “temporary fix,” but would not respond to my question about using the crown as an anchor. He also said he would charge me to “glue the crown” back on so I can continue wearing the partial. There is so much decay now where the crown was, I doubt that the glue would hold; further, I still don’t think it’s a good solution. Is this ever a good idea? Do you have any suggestions for me? I can’t eat regular food now. Help!

I Had A Cyst And I May Be Left With A Gap After Surgery. Will The NHS Sort This Out As It’s A Result Of An Operation?

Monday, June 23rd, 2014
Q.

My NHS dentist noticed that a couple of my front teeth appeared to be coming loose so they did an X-ray and found something on the X-ray and referred me to hospital. The consultant at hospital thought it was a cyst and arranged for a biopsy. The results of the biopsy confirmed that it was a cyst – apparently the sort that has a one in three chance of coming back (it has drained a lot since the biopsy). So I have been referred somewhere else for an operation. I may lose a couple of teeth and/or need a plate in my jaw! If after all the surgery I am left with a gap in my front lower teeth will I have to pay to have something done myself with my dentist or would the NHS sort it out because it happened as the result of an operation. I am a bit unclear if I will just be left with a gap. Thank you for any advice.

My Front Tooth Sticks Out. I’d Like To Know A Way To Fix It Without It Being Extracted?

Friday, May 2nd, 2014
Q.

Hello. I’m 47 and one front tooth sticks out really bad, my dentist said there is nothing he can do, because of gum problems, apart from taking it out. I tend not to smile very much because its very noticeable and I think its gotten worse over the years. If there is anything you can consider for me to bring my smile back I would be very grateful. If there is something you can do without taking it out? I am really frightened of the dentist at the best of times. He also said a crown would not work because it would make my tooth look long.

Hi Dr Hughes. Is It Possible To Whiten My Teeth And My Partial Denture So They Match Up?

Thursday, March 27th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Hughes. I’d like some advice if that’s okay. I have four false teeth at the bottom on a small denture, but I would really like to have my teeth whitened. What are my options as I’ve done some research and it looks as though they can’t whiten dentures? I would really like to know if anything can be done and how much it would cost? Thank you in advance. I look forward to your reply.

What Would Your Advice Be To Get My Mouth Back Back To Normal, And What Costs Would I Be Looking At?

Thursday, February 13th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark, I have no teeth at the front apart from two fangs that is falling out of the gum. I wearing partial denture and I’m wearing a lower denture. The top plate and lower denture is broken and dropping out of my mouth. What work would a dentist do to get my mouth smiling again. I have 6 teeth at the bottom and no teeth on the right and no teeth on the left. What would your advice be to get my mouth back to normal, and what costs would I be looking at? Thank you.
