Have You Ever Heard Of The Metal Wire Going Under The Gum After Dental Bridge Treatment? My Dentist Says It’s Normal.

Friday, July 18th, 2014
Q.

Hello Andrew, I hope you can help. After completion of a dental bridge treatment, the wire which was connected to the false tooth went inside the gum after a few days. I started feeling pain occasionally. The dentist who performed the bridge said that this is normal but prescribed antibiotics and painkillers if pain persists and also advised to use fluoride toothpaste. Does the metal wire ever go inside the gum after few days? Have you heard of this before? Please advise me on my future course of action. Thank you.

I’m Too Scared To Brush My Teeth In Case I Make Things Worse! Please Give Me Some Direction?

Wednesday, July 9th, 2014
Q.

Hello. I am a 20 year old student who hasn’t taken care of my teeth. I have now realised that if I don’t do something soon there will be nothing left. I haven’t seen a dentist in over 5 years and rarely brush due to the fear that I will now make things in my mouth even worse. I don’t know what it is but I can’t see a dentist. It’s got to the point where I have been in enough pain over the last few weeks that I have needed to take ibuprofen and sometimes paracetamol at the same time to get rid of the pain. I believe I have at least 14 bad teeth and at least 6 of them are really bad. I want to find help but I don’t know what to do. Please could you give me some direction on what to do next. Thanks.

I Noticed My Gum Was Sore The Other Day With A Hole Below The Gumline. Any Suggestions On What This Can Be?

Thursday, December 5th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I hope you can help, I noticed today that my gum was a bit sore in my front tooth. I took a look and discovered I have a small hole on the top of my tooth under my gum. Is this just a cavity or something worse? I have always noticed that my gum on that side was lifted higher than my other tooth. My dentist has never seemed concerned about it but I am not aware if this hole was previously there before. Any suggestions on what this can be? I am trying to contact my dentist but before then could you offer any help or advice that would really put my mind at ease. Thank you.

Since My Veneers Were Fitted I Have Been In Agony, Is This Normal?

Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013
Q.

I have had 15 veneers 8 top and 7 bottom and have been in fairly severe pain with the bottoms from the start in each tooth and this gets worse at night when I lie down although maybe this is because of extended time without pain relief…. it has been 4 weeks since the teeth were ground down for the temps and 2 weeks since the veneers were fitted and I cannot go a day without fairly heavy pain killer doses..I did have a tooth extracted on the bottom but the pain is not in this area..thanks in advance for any advice.
