Hey Marcus. I’m interested in jaw surgery as I’ve noticed that I have a slight overbite and a very small chin, so my chin and nose do not look in symmetry. I’m interested in jaw surgery but the fact that one of the risk is numbness or permanent numbness is scaring me! I’m 17 so can you please throw some light about the risk of permanent numbness, and if it’s common or rare? I have very low self esteem as I am starting to notice it more, even though when I tell my friends they say they can’t notice it. It just puts me down, my facial profile is not balanced and although I am grateful that I’m not in physical harm, I would like to know what you could do to sort this problem out! Thank you.

Does Jaw Surgery Cause Permanent Numbness?
Tuesday, November 4th, 2014How Much Does It Cost For Me To Fix A Slight Overbite? I Would Find It Difficult To Fund Without Help.
Wednesday, August 6th, 2014Hi Dr Patel.
I have a slight overbite and would like to get this fixed. I have looked around how to get this done when I bumped into your website.
My question is: how much this will cost and if there is any possibility to get this covered by any insurance?
I noticed this problem when I started to get older but didn’t know if there was a procedure to get this fixed, but since I am an student who is not employed this is going to be difficult to fund on my own.
This procedure would give me self-esteem since as I am very conscious about my overbite problem.
Looking forward for your reply.
Sincerely.
I Would Like To Know If I Am A Suitable Candidate For Invisible Aligners Or Other Clear Aligner Treatment?
Wednesday, August 6th, 2014Hi Mark. I am wondering if I would be a suitable candidate for Invisible aligners or other clear aligner treatment? I have a moderate over-bite, with the top middle two teeth jutting out slightly further than the next two teeth. There is some over-crowding in the top too, with the teeth next to the top middle ones sitting slightly behind them. At the moment I have temporary veneers on these two teeth to bring them into line (the dentist I was seeing didn’t prep the teeth and put permanent veneers on as I was still considering orthodontic work). However, I don’t like the look of the veneers compared to my own teeth. I would be happy with veneers if they looked more like my own teeth, which are slightly transparent and have texture. Whereas the veneers look a bit dead to me, plastic looking. I had the bottom teeth straightened in my 20s and still have the glued in retainer. Now that I’m older I don’t want to have visible regular braces. I’d be grateful for your advice.
Kind regards.
I’m In Need Of Braces To Fix My Really Bad Overbite. Do You Know Of Any Cost Effective Solutions?
Monday, June 9th, 2014Hi Dr Hughes. I have a really bad over bite and I’m in need of braces. Which ones would be best for a severe over bite? I had a jaw operation when I was 13. My teeth were really straight then and I needed veneers on my 2 front top teeth. That’s when my teeth started to move out again. I have not got a massive budget have you got any cost effective suggestions please as what I could do to make them look better, as I have little to no confidence. People always glare at me it’s so embarrassing. I would be very grateful for you advice.

I Have Just Realised I’ve Got An Overbite. Does It Require Surgery To Fix And How Much Does It Cost?
Wednesday, February 19th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I just found out that I have an overbite, and I think its a major overbite, I never thought about it before because I thought everyone’s mouth was like that but then I Googled why my top teeth were too far in front of my bottom teeth, then found out about the overbite. My question is, how is overbite cured? And how much will it cost in the UK? And if it is surgery to cure, what is the chance that everything will be okay? I’m 13 years old. Thank you.
What Sort Of Treatment Should I Consider To Fix My Overbite?
Monday, December 9th, 2013Hi, I was wondering what sort of surgery I could get to improve my teeth. I have a bit of an overbite and the top front two teeth are much larger and not in line with the other teeth. It’s a bit like the two teeth are like bunny teeth. I’d really like the top row of teeth to be straight and for the two front teeth not to stick out like they do, however I’m unsure what action would need to be taken to solve this problem. I’m fine with getting braces, I am just curious how they’d work because it’s not like there’s a gap between any of my teeth for teeth to shift towards. Thank you.
I Was Told When Younger That I Would Need My Jaw Broken To Fix My Large Overbite. How Much Would It Now Cost To Fix My Smile?
Friday, October 25th, 2013 Hello Dr Moore. My problem is that I have a overbite and it is quite big. When I was a child I went the orthodontist and he told me it was a very big overbite and would probably need my jaw broken. My two front teeth are very prominent compared to the others. Does this mean Invisalign would not work for me? I really don’t want the metal braces! Is there any other options? Like veneers? Based on the information I have given you can you take a rough estimate on how long it would take to fix my smile?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for taking the time to listen.
I Need Work On My Overbite So I Can Finally Feel Confident, What Type Of Treatment Do You Suggest?
Monday, September 9th, 2013Hello Dr Moore, I really hope you can help me, I have gaps in my upper top teeth and I really want to close them. I need some advice on what to do to get them closed. I really hate my teeth and it’s always knocked my confidence. I also have a slight overbite which I hate, and the gap is fairly big between my top teeth. I would love cosmetic surgery as I feel that I am too old for braces and I want a fast result. I have no confidence when I smile because of the gap between teeth and I really want it closed. It would make me so much happier. My gums are very exposed to so I have a gummy smile. Thank you for your consideration. Please help me!!
