I asked my dentist for braces but he said I can’t have them because I have an overbite. Is this true?

Thursday, October 7th, 2010
Q.
I would like my teeth to be straight & whiter. When I was younger I visited the dentist to request Braces to straighten my teeth however, the dentist said this was not an option as I had an overbite. Is the information the dentist gave me correct or is it possible to have invisalign/braces?? I look forward to your reply

I have been experiencing jaw clicking and pain with retainer. Dentist has recommended doing ortho treatment again. Sount right to you?

Thursday, October 7th, 2010
Q.
I had orthodontic work aged 14-15 where some teeth were removed. Within a couple of years, my remaining teeth had returned to their original positions. I repeated the orthodontics in 2002 with a different dentist, and had a wire retainer glued to the back of my teeth, but have been left with frequent jaw pain and clicking, and problems swallowing. I have today seen a new dentist, who has advised the retainers be removed immediately, and to go through the whole orthodontic process again, after fixing the jaw alignment (and moving all my teeth forwards). Does this seem like a good plan to try, or am i just going to spend even more money for the sake of it?,
