Hi! I am 14 and have had braces to fix my teeth. I am now on night-time only retainers. I have 3 problems:
Will I have to still pay for new retainers that fit over my wisdom teeth also?
Thank you.

Hi. I had my 3 front teeth smashed from my mouth in a violent assault. I am currently unemployed, will the NHS replace them with implants? Why they were removed still remains a mystery as the roots were all whole and secure just the fronts of the teeth were sheared off, so I need to know if I can have them replaced with implants before the bone starts to degenerate. They were removed a few years ago and I cannot stand to smile anymore as I had a gap for a few years but now my dentist sacrificed two other teeth to make a bridge. I can tell it won’t last longer than a year, two if I am lucky, they aren’t in very well and look like horse teeth with no attempt to match the teeth I have. It was a violent attack with a baseball bat that scarred me mentally as well as physically and now what the dentist has done as a professional care giver to me seems more like abuse. Please tell me if I can have them all replaced with implants on the NHS.
I want all my teeth replaced. I have shrinkage of the gums and feel the teeth I have will only get worse if they stay in. I have not been out the house in 2 years because of my teeth but I can’t afford the prices, any advice please? I don’t want to be house bound and would love to enjoy time with my grandkids. I’m only just 40 and sometimes I feel suicidal because of my teeth or feel like taking them out myself. I have a couple snapped off, some have big holes and some are split from top to bottom. I’m now starting to get pains in my bottom gum more than my top. My dentist is an NHS one and they don’t seem to care unless you are paying for treatment.
Hello Marcus, I would like some advice please.
My 4 top front teeth have developed very large horrible gaps in between them.
They look very horrible and noticeable. They are getting me down and people are staring at them and making horrible remarks about them.
I no longer smile or laugh as my teeth would be on show.
Can I have this problem resolved via the NHS as I am on certain benefits that exempt me from usual dentist treatment.
Many thanks.
Hi Mark. I have a new bridge on my front teeth, 3 units to replace the original bridge which broke, but I am not happy with it as my teeth are too long. Can the teeth be shortened or am I stuck with it? Also it doesn’t fit correctly as my bottom tooth hits the metal on the back of my front tooth. I am also unable to close my back teeth together. It was done through the NHS and I know the teeth underneath are highly compromised, so I think it’s unlikely that it can be taken off without damaging what’s left of my front teeth. I am unable to afford implants unfortunately, so is there a way this bridge can be sorted? Thank you.
Hi Mark. I’m 18 and have been wearing braces for the past three years now under the NHS. There hasn’t been much progress with their treatment which is why I’ve decided to opt to seek private treatment. I have my two lateral incisors missing at the top. I was wondering what kind of treatment options I would have and if so what clinics within the UK could provide this. I would like to sort this issue out as soon as possible. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.
Hi. I am a NHS patient, recently I had two crowns replaced within a year, the first was a great colour match, the second which is next to the first is awful, yellow and darker. They were both done by the same dentist. I said when having the second crown I would like to have the same colour, then the dentist and nurse started looking at different colours and decided to make the change of colour assuring me I would hardly notice the difference, I just agreed, as I was happy with the first crown. When I went for the fitting it was put in, very rushed, I just put it down to being a busy morning, I had to ask for a mirror, which was a waste of time without my glasses. When I got home I was so disappointed that it’s not matching, it’s yellow. It looks so false next to the first crown. I have my 6 month appointment soon. Is it possible to change the crown, as it was free on the NHS?
Hi Dr Huges. I am looking into getting all my teeth pulled out and have screw-in teeth or dental implants to replace them. I have had cancer and since then I have finished my chemotherapy and now I have had nothing but problems with my teeth, I brush them two times a day every day and they just keep rotting. I am in pain most the time, and I just want to get it sorted now. I currently don’t work so would have to go through the NHS as I couldn’t pay for private treatment. If you could tell me how much it will cost and how long the wait would be. I would be very grateful. Many thanks for your time.
Dear sir,
