My son has a brown smudge on his tooth would a dental veneer be the best treatment for him?

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010
Q.
My son had an accident when he was 16 months old. He forced his new tooth up into the gum which had to be removed surgically. He is now 12 and his adult tooth has emerged with a brown smudge along the lengthe of the tooth. He would like a veneer – would this be the best option? However, as he is still growing would this cause a problem? Also, he is a very keen rugby player would it be worth doing whilst he is playing so much rugby. Or, could the stain be “bleached”? He is very self conscious of his tooth, especially as he is getting interested in girls.,

Will the removable retainer do the job of preventing my teeth from grinding?

Monday, July 5th, 2010
Q.
Hi I tend to grind my teeth during the night time. I have a mouth guard that I wear once or twice a week during the night (It is bulky and uncomfortable). My question is if I wear my removable retainer on my upper jaw as I have just recently removed my braces, (I have been told I must wear my essix retainer every night for a very long time) do I also have to wear my mouth guard every night to prevent the removable retainer from getting damaged or will the removable retainer do the job of preventing my teeth grinding. Kind Regards.,

Would a mouth guard protect my dental crown whilst snorkeling?

Thursday, May 27th, 2010
Q.
I have a front crown and a few weeks ago it came out. My dentist temporarily fittted it back in but I’m going away on holiday before I get if permenantly fixed and would like to go snorkeling. I’m afraid that I may dislodge the crown and lose it. I was wondering if I bought a mouth guard, do you think that would protect the crown and if so what would be the best one to buy.,

What can be done for mother who is experiencing excruciating tooth pain?

Monday, March 15th, 2010
Q.
My mom is and has been in excruciating pain for the past 10 days. She was told by her dentist a while ago that she grinds her teeth and was given a guard which she wears occasiionally. We have been to her dentist and the dental hospital a few times now, other than telling her what she already knows and making a further appointment to look at the fitting for the guard they have not been able to help… I cant express enough how much continous pain she is in. Her face is being swell down the side she is in pain, she is taking pain killers but they are having no affect….please advice ASAP…thankyou,

What protective mouth guards are there for contact sport?

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010
Q.
My 13 year old daughter had an accident where she fell and received a severe trauma on her front teeth. She had a root fracture on one of her teeth which required to put a post on it before having a crown put on and her other tooth was not lost but half of her tooth broke and another crown was used. She has been in Taekwondoo since she was 7 years old. I dont want her to give up this sport she loves so much, but my concern is that since it is a contact sport what protection in terms of mouth guards would be recommended for this kind of situation. Can any possible mouth guard offer some level of protection in her case and in the sport she is in. How strong are these crowns?,
