Q. Hi, just wanna ask. My 2 molar teeth was missing is it possible to feel the gap on my teeth? also, how much is the cost of it? Thank you.

A. The costs depend on what is put in the gap. a denture is the cheapest option bridgework the next and implants the most expensive. expect to pay between £3500-4000 for 2 teeth held with implants

I m 25 and considering of having new teeth plz help

Q. im really worried bout my teeth think my dentist hasnt helped,but im conciderin needing sum new teeth has sune i wont av any teeth at the back to chew with.im 25 n i cant stop thinkin that it not b long before all ive got is my front teeth.

A. If you are think you need to have a large course of treatment and are not happy with your current dentist. I suggest that you see a 2 or 3 different practices to get some quotes and decide which option suits you best. Try to decide a budget and what if any comprimisesyou can make on cost, appearance or timing.

I hv several missing teeth can I hv my overbite corrected?

Q. I have recently had several extraction from the top and bottom. I have an overbite and looking into getting braces soon. Will the fact that I have several missing teeth be any problems with getting my overbite corrected?

A. hi many thanks for your email, this is generslly not a problem however the missing teeth do need to be considered in the overall treatment plan. my advice would be to seek an orthodontist for a consultation. hope this is helpful.

Would valplast be suitable for my missing tooth?

Q. Hello.I have my upper double back tooth missing. I have been told I have to have a tooth on a plate as I only have one tooth to attach it to. I do not wish to have an implant. Would valplast be suitable? My cheek has sunk!

A. Valplast is a type of material used to make plastic dentures and is a suitable material to replace missing teeth

Q. i have five missing teeth and have be using dentures. i presently considering implants, but my dentist has advised me that is too expensive and does not worthy it as it is not a permanent solution. i am totally disapointed about this as i have been dreaming of the prospect. pls. can u advise

A. I think your dentist is obviously a bit sceptical of implants as we find them to be an ideal solution for patients with missing teeth. fixed teeth will always feel better than dentures and the cost is relative to the quality of life you will experience without having to wear false teeth.

Should I need to try for new bridges Plz advice

Q. Hi Dr. Moore. I have two maryland bridges replacing my eye teeth. They were recently replaced as the ones that I’ve had since I was 14 (I’m now 30) were chipped etc. That being said, the new ones keep popping out. My dentist has used numerous types of cement but it keeps happening. As my roots are too close together for impants (I was born without the teeth) are there any other options for me? Thank you

A. If the 1st bridges lasted a long time it might be worth trying new bridges perhaps looking more closely at the bite as this is often the reason the bridges come out.

What would be the cost for repair of chipped teeth?

Q. my two top front teeth are chipped and i am concerned they will chip even more is it possible to repair them, will i have to go private and hoe much roughly will it cost, as i am having trouble finding an nhs dentist.

A. I recommend you call around to find an NHS dentist in your area taking on new patients or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/
If you decided to go down the private route then after your examination your dentist can inform you on the costs involved in repairing this.

I m 20 Will I be missing two teeth as they hv turned black?

Q. yesterday my two front lower teeth moved and when i got home i notice their where turning black from the bottom and is soo weird because my teeth are healthy soo my question is am i going to be a 20 year girl missing two teeth?:(

A. It may be that you have hit these these causing them to become lose. Otherwise it maybe that over time your teeth have moved and you have only just noticed.

I hv holes on my teeth after removing braces Plz advice

Q. Hi, I would be very grateful if you could advise me. I am 47 years old. Two weeks ago I had the braces removed from my teeth after wearing them for 15 months. I had overcrowding on my bottom teeth and I felt that my teeth protruded on my top teeth. That was my reason for seeking treatment. One of the first things I noticed was that very soon after having the brace fitted my teeth became quite discoloured, yellowish in appearance. I consoled myself that I could have them whitened when the brace came off but was still worried. I told the orthodontist my concerns and he said that he had noted that my teeth were quite yellowish before he put the brace on but I am sure that the colour changed almost straight away. In particular around the gums about a third of the way up my teeth was quite yellow which I had not noticed before. I decided to wait until the brace came off to see if I could get them whitened. Two weeks ago the brace was removed and the bonded retainer applied straight away. He then cleaned my teeth very rigiously for quite some time. When I looked in the mirror in the surgery I was dismayed at the colour. Very yellow and matte without shine. He cleaned my teeth again with pumice and water spray. They looked better but without shine or vitality. Even now two weeks later the shine has not come back properly and the colour is not right. Also to my horror there were little holes at the top of my teeth where they meet the gums. The holes are each side of the tooth next to my two front teeth on each side of my mouth. Altogether I can see three holes on my top row of teeth. This is also evident on my bottom teeth but not so noticeable. The orthodontist didn’t mention this to me or let me know it had already happened. I cant remember seeing them in my mouth when the brace was in either. At the beginning of my treatment I remember him telling me that this can occur but he can correct it by shaving the sides of the teeth to make them closer together. I am so upset. I paid nearly £4500 for my treatment and didn’t expect them to look like this. I think the holes really age me and I am conscious of smiling broadly. This is a lot of money for me. I couldn’t say how disappointed I was to the orthodontist at the time when he first removed the brace as I was so shocked and I didn’t want to come over as criticizing his work. A few days ago I went back to the orthodontist to have an impression made of my mouth just in case the bonded retainer comes out (I think that was the reason for the impression). I mentioned my worry to the orthodontist about the holes but he only said that they may close on their own but unlikely. I am so disappointed. Surely he could have closed the holes during the treatment. I paid nearly £4500 and didn’t expect this to happen. Is it too late for me now. Kind regards

A. I’m afraid this is not my field as i am not an orthodontist.
I recommend you go for a second opinon with an orthodontist and discuss your concerns with them. They can give you a full mouth assessment and advise you from there.

Is there anything that can be done to fix discoloured teeth?

Q. Hi there, the other week my little boy who is 2 feel and burst his lip and he ha damaged the nerve on his frount tooth. I took him to the dentist and she told me there is nothing she can do with it, but i really need help my wee boy does modeling and with his tooth that colour he cant do it any more. Please can u help my i am willing to pay anything or do anything to get this fixed the tooth isnt chipped or anything its just grey. Is there absoloutley anything that can be done to fix this at anycost. Thank you
