How much does it cost for tooth filling?

Hi Andrew,I recently went to the dentist(the dental clinic)and they said I need 2 small fillings,these are on the lower left and lower right molars.They will use composite filling and they will charge me £186 and £162 for each tooth,plus £79 for each Hygiene visit(2).It’s a private clinic but I find it very expensive,what do you think?

I had a composite filling which broke off what can i do?

Dr. Moore, A year ago, I had a composite filling put into my front tooth. A few days ago, the bottom part of the tooth broke off in two places and the composite filling from the front remaining part to the top has come out completely; leaving only a thin part of my real tooth behind. Is this tooth salvagable for a crown?

I have chipped my front teeth is it possible to have tooth bonding?

Hi there. I have recently chipped one of my front teeth. I do not wish to get it filed down as my other front tooth is a crown, and this would only make the crown look bigger! Is it possible to have tooth bonding on this front tooth? It is a small thin chip, and only noticable up close. If so does this need to be done privately or can it be carried out on the NHS? thank you for your time

Is it normal for cotton wool to be placed in the tooth before filling it?

Is it normal for cotton wool to be placed in the tooth then the filling on top?? as i have just had my tooth out and keept it i scraped out the filling to see how big the hole was and to my suprise at the bottom was a lump of cotton wool could this have cause my infection i had.. waiting your reply

Dear Dr How valid the calim of this tech” CEREC 3D CAD scanner” versus lab work interm of accuracy. I know the time is 1/600HR waiting ,but is it true NO micro annulas due to accurate dimintion of the tooth. 2-Is the ceramic filling more advance relaible,durable than the composit filling if the ceramic price is 10 times more.Do you advise patients to use it? Hi, following a recent x-ray & examination of a tooth, my Dentist has advised me that I need a gold crown as it will provide the best long-term protection. I’ve heard about health concerns relating to mercury used for some treatment but noticed a recent enquiry mentioning no mercury content in a gold crown. I’m also considering a 2nd opinion as I would prefer enamel. Can you please advise. Thanks.

Is root canal treatment appropriate for sensitive teeth?

I had a filling in october 2007. My tooth has always been very sensitive to cold and hot stuff since the filling. The tooth is however not painful except recently when I try to bite on it. Secondly, if a put a sweet or anything sweet on the surface of the filling its very very painful.My dentist recently recommended a root canal treatmet. Do you think it would be the appropriate treatment considering the tooth is not painful but just sensitive to hot/cold and to feeling like when a spoon touches it.The tooth in question is the first molar.What could be the problem
