Q. hi i just want to ask that my son has lost his milk teeth too early because of tooth decay about age of 1 and half.the upper front 6 teeth as i very worried what to expect and the family dentist say that my son could have crouded teeth when he got his permenant teeth and he may need brace.i wonder how much it cost me to have a brace for a child as he reach the age to have permenant teeth and when should have fit bace.please reply
A. The brace will normally be fitted at age 13 and should be available on the NHS

Q. Hi Kailesh I was wondering what you can do for people with croked teeth, ar veneers still an option. My 2 front teeth ar slightly further foward than the ones either side? I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi
Many thanks for your question. There are usually several options for correcting tooth position and alignment. Veneers are an option especially if you are also unhappy with the shape and colour of the teeth, however this treatment usually involves removing a small amount of healthy tooth. Other options include 6 month smiles, inman aligner, and invisalign. these would all reposition the teeth but not change the shape or colour.

Q. Hello I am a 17 year old and my front two teeth are forward and so they are not straight and alinged with the other teeth.Can an inman aligner fix this and push these front teeth back so my teeth would be perfectly straight? Also, would I have to remove teeth for this? Thanking you
A. It really depends on how your teeth look an Inman aligner may straighten them if not a fixed brace or invisalign may be other options.

Q. Hi ive got a cannine that sticks out.My dentist dosnt advise me to have treatment as i am 44 and have lost bone density. Is there anything I could have done to straighten it?

Q. Hi, I used to wear braces before but this was a while back now. After my braces were romved i was given retainers which i only wore for a few months… But i now feel as if my teeth have moved forward as they used to be before and i really hate it! Is there anyway i can get my teeth slightly back? Hope you can help me.
A. You might have to consider having the brcaes back on i’m afraid or maybe straighten then using porelain veneers

Q. Hello there, Sorry to bother you but I have two quick questions if you could answer them please? I have previously had fixed braces (both) when I was younger, my bottom brace only stayed on for 4 weeks instead of 6 months as planned. I then had them both removed (after having top on for 1 1/5yrs prior to bottom) and wore the retainer 24 hrs a day for the year. I then went for the yearly check up point and my retainer was taken off of me. My teeth went wonky within months, and I have been too scared to go back. I get really upset about my teeth and suffered alot with braces to still have wonky teeth. I am 19 and in full time education and have swapped dentist now. My wisdom teeth have been coming through for a year and causing me grief, will they fit braces with the wisdom teeth growing through and are they likely to get funded by the NHS? A. Hi, thanks for you questions. I wouldn’t expect you to get braces on the NHS and you may need to have the wisdom teeth removed before you have any other orthodontic treatment.

Q. Hello Dr Butt, My question is about the Inman Aligner, I have had mine in since the end of August, the first three weeks were great I could really feel and see the difference in my front teeth. The last four weeks or so I have said to my dentist that I can’t see or feel any movement which is the main part of the treatment. My dentist is now telling me that I should get a Clearstep like brace to finish it off for a further cost. I thought the Inman was all that was needed to complete the treatment – what can I do??

the inman is usually a 12 week treatment depending on how long you wear it each day
it aligns the teeth pretty well but for fine detail finishing clear aligners can be used.
it depends if you are happy to finish where you are or want to continue and get a nicer result.
it is normal for the inman not to feel as tight as the teeth move into the right position so dont worry about this.

Q. Hi Dr Solanki, I have a narrow tooth to the left of my front teeth and to the left of that tooth I have a fang tooth which I really hate the appearance and feeling of, it is positioned a bit higher than my other teeth and when my mouth is closed if you press along my mouth you can clearly feel a difference there, also when smiling it does not look good. I love to smile but past few years I smile alot less with my mouth open, it does affect me and in general most of my teeth need fixing eg; straightened, some reshaped to look even and whitened. I was wondering what could be done to help with my upper left fang tooth so it looks normal and also for all my teeth to be straight, even and white? I would prefer not to have braces. Hope you can make some sense of what I am asking for here and also any general pricing to give me an idea would be great. Many Thanks.
A. Thanks for your questions, although you would prefer not to have braces, I would encourage you to look into the various types of braces which are available today. There are systems which can work in as little as six weeks, as well as systems which are virtually invisble. If however this is really not for you, you may wish to consider having the teeth veneered. The veneers could be used to alter the size, shape, colour and overall aesthetic appearance of your teeth, to create the smile you desire. I hope this helps.

Q. Hi there. I have been unhappy with the gaps in my upper and lower teeth. I had them recently filled but still i have a gummy smile and not all the gaps in my lover set of teeth could be filled because the gaps were to big. What other treatments could i get to get a really nice stright smile? Thanks for your time.
A. You need to have your teeth assessed properly you may be able to have the spaces closed with braces either fixed metal or invisalign. Another option may be porcelain veneers as this could also reduce the gummy smile.

Q. Dear Rob, I am a 17 year old who used to wear braces about 2 years back.I wore retainers for a year (day and night) but after that I stopped wearing it. Recently I noticed my wisdom tooth starting to grow and I feel my front two teeth have come forward a bit. Is this possible? The rest of my teeth are strait but the front two teeth are a bit forward-unlike how it was before. How do I push it back again? Do I need braces? If so do I have to take off teeth again to move it back?

Hi the teeth can crowd at the same time that wisdom teeth appear but it is less clear whether its caused by the wisdom teeth. You could start using a retainer again. Reversing the effect would need a thorough clinical assesment before answering.

Q. Dear Mr Bohara, When i was around 15 i was referred to a orthodontist, I cancelled the appointment and didn’t continue with my treatment. Two of front teeth stick out like ”vampire teeth”. I was just wondering how much it would cost me to have braces and how long do you think i would have to keep them on for!

You would require a consultation initially to see what your treatment options would be. The cost would be depndable on the type of sytem you wish i.e damon, invislalign, six months smiles, etc
The cost could vary from £2000 to £4000 dependable on the system and complexity. The time required for the treatment would be dependable on the complexity.

A. Thanks for your questions, this would depend onthe system you have used. If you have had Invisalign type treatment, you should be able to return to your dentist for refinement. Q. i want to ask i have had braces in the past but i dint wear my containers and now my teeth have become crooked again. whats the best advice.

Thanks for your question, as with all orthodontic treatments, if you do not wear your retainer, your teeth will naturally move to the position they were in prior to treatment. I would recommend you consult a dentist to discuss further orthodontic treatment to correct the positioning of your teeth and consider a fixed retainer on completion. Q. i’m looking to get braces, and would much prefer the Inman Aligner done. However, I’m not sure if i’m a likely candidate for the treatment. A baby canine tooth that I should have had removed 10 years ago, has forced the adult canine tooth to grow underneath it, pushing it to the inside of my upper gum. After having that baby canine tooth taken out, now i would like for the adult canine tooth to be put in it’s right place on my upper gum via orthodontic treatment. Having seen the prices, of normal traditional braces extending between £2000 and £3000, i saw that not only were Inman Aligners cheaper, but they also carried out the treatment in a significantly shorter space of time. So my question is, is it possible to have that canine tooth pushed forward, towards the center of my gum, or will I have to settle for traditional braces? (Can the Inman Aligner be used to treat the canine teeth as well, or just the 4 incisors
A. I don’t think the Inman will work that well in this situation. I think you would need conventional orthodontics peraps with ceramic white brackets to make it less obvious. This will give you your best long-term solution.

Q. Dr Solanki, Would a product like Invisalign be suitable for someone who has a crown on one of their two front top teeth and a double winged bridge on one of their lower left teeth? Are there any other options that could be used that have the same effect of straightening teeth that have gaps between them that could be used? Thank you for your time

Thanks for your questions, it is still possible to have Orthodontic treatment when you have crowns and bridges, Although I would recommend that any new restorations are delayed until after orthodontic treatment. There are many different methods for teeth straightening, each with their own advantages, such as invisble braces and braces which can work in as little as six weeks. I would recommend that you consult with a dentist or orthodontist to gain advise on which system would be best suited to your particular case.

Q. My front teeth are big and prutruding, i wore a brace when I was younger, but probably did not give it enough time. I have always been paraniod of my teeth, and now coming up to my wedding i dread the photos. How much on average would it cost to correct?
