I’m Worried That My Teeth Might Relapse After Braces Treatment. Please Let Me Know How Credible My Worries Are?

Tuesday, March 18th, 2014
Q.

Hi,

I am 30 years old and got braces just 2 weeks back. My teeth protruded out very slightly – almost negligible and I had a fang which kind of hung on the top. I got braces so I could have a perfect smile. I have no trouble with pain but I am worried because now when I have put braces many people said I should not have done it at this age. Also, to make space for the teeth to retract, IPR was done on the front upper and lower teeth and I am now scared that even if the teeth move but go back to the same place even after using retainers, my teeth would be a complete mess, especially with the spaces that IPR has created.

Please let me know how credible my worries are. My dentist who put the braces told me mine was a very simple case and I might get over with it in 6 months.

Looking forward to the reply.

Thanks.

I am worried about having my teeth recontoured

Q.

Please help. I am worried to death about having some teeth recontoured for an Invisalign brace. I have been told that some of my teeth will be filed so that this can create space to move the teeth. I’m worried that it will hurt, what it will look like. Am i going to have horrible gaps in my teeth? Does that look unattractive I’m very scared. Will it ruin the health of my teeth? Apparently it is needed for the Invisalign brace but I don’t want any gaps in my teeth.
