I had a 2nd root canal treatment on my upper-right molar, 6 months ago. I have been experiencing mild pain and discomfort ever since and it’s getting worse. Everytime I bite on the tooth, floss and brush my teeth I feel mild pain. The gum surrounding the tooth feels tender. My inside my right nostril also feels watery when I bite on the tooth. I went to my Dentist 3 months ago and had an x-ray but it didn’t show any signs of infection.
I would like to know if my symptoms are a sign that the RCT has failed? Also is the wetness in my nose connected to my tooth? Thank you

Hi, I have been in agony with toothache since last Thursday.  I went to my dentist and was diagnosed with an infection under a crowned tooth and gave me a course of antibiotics to get rid off it. He saw me again 5 days later and drilled through the crown to release the tension caused by the infection and drilled some infection out. He then injected antibiotic into the tooth and put in a temporary filling, until i can receive further treatment. However I have to wait another 2 weeks before he can carry out root canal treatment but I’m in agony but dont know whether i should I go back to see him or persevere. i am trying every painkiller and nothing is helping. What do you suggested. Thanks

Why does my face ache after a hot drink but does not react to an ice cold drink? It appears that drinking ice cold water does relieve problem. My problem only started to happen after a recent visit abroad.I do brush,my teeth regularly,using an electric tooth brush. I also floss my teeth on a daily basis. I visit the dentist on six monthly basis and i am due to visit in the next month. I am asking this question so that i am fully prepared with any questions that imay need to ask my dentist.

I had a filling fall out about 6 months ago. There has been no pain. a week ago i bit down on a sandwhich and a piece went insude my tooth causing pain. After a couple days it was feeling better. About three days later late in the evening it started hurting while i was just sitting reading a book. The pain increased to the point i had to go to the ER. I was given Vicadin and Penicilin. Two days later I cannot open my mouth only about 1/2 an inch and it hurts to swallow. the tooth is not really causing me pain. What is going on and how do I make it better?

Three months ago I visited my dentist because I had a slight gum tenderness around one of my front incisor teeth. He suggested that I should rub Corsodyl around it twice a day. This treatment didn’t seem to work so he took an X ray which revealed that there was an infection. Probably five years previously, this tooth had been capped. He then suggested that he should attempt a root canal treatment, which he did ten days ago. Sadly, for me he said that he had not been able to do this successfully. I think he said it was due to “corrosion” ! He said come back and see me on the 9th June and we will decide what to do. Obviously, I do not wish to lose this front tooth; – would it be a good idea to be referred to a specialist endodontis ? I do not have any pain – at the moment – a very slight discomfort when I eat. I f you do suggest that I go to a specialist should I do this before 9th June and are you able to recommend someone really good in the area OR has it to be London ? I slipped whilst flossing after brushing and slightly cut into my upper gum. It only bled a little bit and I rinsed with water and corsodyl. I have recently had very slight inflammation of the gums and worried that i may have caused any long term damage by cutting the gum. ie: will anything get pushed into the cut and cause infection. I use an electric/sensitive toothbrush twice a day with corsodyl toothpaste and daily mouthwash and floss nightly.

I’m 29 and really care about my teeth as when i was younger I wasn’t so good, but now i’m on a roll and do everything I can.

About 5 years ago I had 2 crowns fitted to my 2 front teeth.
I went to the dentist yesterday as I have noticed in the last year or so that one of the crowns has developed a grey line at the top at the gum line.

I seem to recall being told before that this was often an issue with crowns as the gum recedes. However when I asked my dentist about the cause, she said that it was nothing to do with gum recession but that she thought there was a problem with the crown. She thinks it might have a crack in it which is causing bacteria to get in and rot the remaining bit of tooth underneath and hence making it go black. She suggests replacing both crowns to ensure a colour match.

Could you give me your opinion please as to the likely cause of this dark line?
Her advice would be very expensive and disappointing after only having them done 5 years ago.

ive had 3 or 4 teeth out on friday mornin and im still in a lot of pain its giving me headaches and sleepless nights ive took painkillers and they,ve worn off after a bit why am i still in lot of pain with it plus ive had stitches put in

I was planning on having some cosmetic dental crown work re-done, but have discovered via x-rays that I have an infection around the tip of a previously root-filled crowned canine tooth. The dentist has suggested either an apicocectomy, or root canal and removal of old screw post/crown in this tooth and the one next to it, as this also has an old screw post, and the tip of its root is fairly close to the area of infection. Which would be the treatment of choice, please? I am concerned about the removal of the old posts (although I was going to have these teeth re-crowned anyway). thanks for your reply.

10 days ago my gum above my front tooth was numbed to cut out an infection I have had the stitches out but it has left along lump under my nose and gum I think it is ful of anesthetic it is sore and hard what can I do it will not go
