Can I Still Get An Implant If My Gum Has Healed?

Thursday, January 31st, 2013
Q.

I had a molar removed from my top teeth approx 2yrs ago as it was infected could not be saved. I now have a gap. the tooth next to it is a crown but I have now been advised by my dentist that it is loose and will need replacing and the tooth removing as I would not be ble to have another crown. I would like an implant for the missing tooth as well as the tooth that will need removing. But my dentist has said that I would not be able to have an implant as the gum/bone has healed but I might be able to have an implant with a tooth attached so I have 2 teeth. Is this something that can be done?

Should I Have A Temporary Tooth Until My Implant Or Just Leave The Gap?

Thursday, January 17th, 2013
Q.

Hi I have had an upper right 4 removed and am looking at having an implant (when I have saved up enough)
In the meantime what is the best temporary option?
a partial upper
a maryland bridge
or just leaving the gap?
Also with regards to implants how can i be sure i’m going to the right place, my dentist is reluctant to suggest anywhere and various friends have suggested places from Brighton to Budapest ….
Hope you can help – thanks

Can I Get Implants On The NHS?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor,
top right jaw I had a large mola removed in Dec, I’ve no longer any top corner top teeth im finding it hard to eat on this side of my mouth because I have nothing to bite my food with, and I’m having to chew on my left side, today I chatted with my dentist about an implant to replace the large tooth I lost, he siad it would cost £1000-£2000 for a single implant. Do you think that any NHS teaching hospitals would be able to do it cheaper as i’m not working at the moment and so cannot really afford to pay that amount of money. My dentist said the NHS wouldnt pay for my implant, just wondered if there was anything I could do to help myself, as im finding it hard to eat normaly,
thanks, I look forward to hearing your response

Is There A Cheeper Way To Get Implants?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr.
Could you please help me. I have no teeth in the upper jaw and only 5 teeth in the lower jaw. I was left 5000 from my mum that died recently. I know it is not much for implants. But im praying that you will know a nice doctor that can offer an alternative treatment that would help me get some teeth again.I struggle to eat and suffer with a hernia in my stomach, which is not helped by me not chewing my food. I’m so ashamed of them and it’s very embarrassing and is affecting my whole life. I beg you please doctor help me. Many thanks.

I want to explore my implant options in the UK including the cost, quality and guarantee. Can you advise?

Q.

Dear Dr. Bohara,

I am based in Qatar in the Middle East. Since I had troublesome upper teeth and some were missing due to bad hygiene and dental bridges did not work for me, as they came off pretty often, hence I went to India for tooth implant. The dental surgeon there took out all my upper teeth, did some bone grafting and gave me a denture to wear as a stop gap. The implant will now take place six months from today (say in June) and then the final prosthesis in another six months. I was told that I need 8 implants. I am not too happy with this process. I want to explore what my options are in the UK, the cost , the quality, the guarantee that the teeth will last long, and the time required for your 4 implants method.
your guidance in this regard will be very much appreciated. Please also let me have the location of your clinic and how long in advance I will have to make an appointment as I will have to fly down to London for the treatment.
