Hello. I Would Like To Have Treatment For Hypermobile Lip. Could You Help Me Find Someone?

Thursday, June 12th, 2014
Q.

Hello. I hope you can help me Dr Hughes. I would like to have treatment for hypermobile lip. It is something that has bothered me for a long while.
When I smile or laugh, around 8mm of my gum is exposed. I asked my dentist but said he couldn’t really help as gum contouring would probably not reduce my gum enough. I’ve tried botox injections but they didn’t work either.
I’m having trouble trying to find a surgeon or someone who would perform this sort of treatment.
I am happy to travel to London, Birmingham, Manchester etc, Can you help?
Thank you for your time.

I have a hypermobile upper lip where can I get it corrected?

Thursday, December 6th, 2012
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes, I have a hypermobile upper lip, I am looking for a surgeon who can correct this with lip re-positioning but am really struggling to find a London based clinic, or any in the UK at all really. Would you be able to advise me to where I can go to get this correct with a reputable doctor. I would prefer to have it corrected at Harley Street but cannot see that it’s a correction they offer.

thanks for your help and any advice. Kind regards,

I am self conscious about my gums, what can I do about my upper lip line?

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011
Q.

i have an unsatisfactory smile due to abnormally revealed gum tissues only at the area of the four incisors, and the apparent length of the teeth is normal , is there any procedure to stop the upper lip while smiling at the right gum line position?? knowing that i am 23 years old and have normal front teeth length, contour and alignment.. but my previously mentioned problem has always had a terrible impact on me since i was a little girl.. it makes me always conscious about the look of my smile during all conversations.. i have never ever revealed my teeth in any photo of mine.

It doesn’t cause much pain, but there is two symptoms is obvoius. -There is a shifting in the position of the teeth, or a change in the bite. -Hard to open the jaw fully, or the jaw may shift to one side after opening. I amlooking a solution on my problem. May I know the estimation cost for the surgery if it need to be done. Thank you,

I have a gummy smile can i get them corrected?

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I have a 3mm overbite with a 2mm overjet. I have a gummy smile I want to correct. My teeth are straight for the most part but I wanted to know if lingual braces can correct the overbite and in hopes to correct my gummy smile if any. I was also wondering if my teeth are pretty straight and I have to do orthognathic surgery to correct this issue if I can have braces for 6 months and then have the surgery. I would prefer lingual though to give me less of a “horsey” smile.Thanks.
