I have lost my of my teeth to decay and no dental visits through the last few years mostly. I have roots in my gums that every few months will cause excruciating pain and swell, what my dad used to call an attack of pyaria. What can I do for the pain and to clean the gums gently to stop it?,

I have food stuck underneath my gum-line. Will it cause any harm to leave it there?

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
Q.
I got two really tiny flat bits of food (pepper I think) stuck at the top of one of my canines, and in trying to get them out, I pushed them up further, under the gum. Now I can just very faintly see tiny shadows underneath my gum at the top of my tooth (though apparently my friend can’t see them!) The tooth is right at the front of my mouth & I don’t want to damage the gum by trying further to get the bits out. There is no inflammation. Will it cause any harm to leave the bits there? Will they come out by themselves or get worse? Thanks for any help you can give!,

Would Europeans be interested in lectures concerning LANAP?

Friday, August 6th, 2010
Q.
Dear Andrew: I am a USA trained Periodontist ( gum specialist) with offices in New York City and New Jersey . I have been lecturing and performing Laser Periodontal Surgery for a number of years. One of the laser procedures is called LANAP ( Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure). I have lectured extensively around the USA with supporting documentation ( Photos, radiographs). This Laser protocol also involves regeneration of bone and connective tissue. There also enormous cosmetic and positive restorative implications as well. Patients can remain on blood thinners, and other medications for this treatment which we do in 1 visit. I could go on and on about this ” game changer” in my field of Periodontics. We are documenting all our results and will be publishing in the near future. I also know that the Laser protocol is currently receiving European approval. Would you know if the local or regional European societies/ dental schools/meetings would be interested in hearing me lecture on this modality of treatment? We are getting e mails now from all over the world. I am one of the first Periodontists on the Eastern border of the United States doing these Periodontal/gum procedures and have accumulated some interesting and exciting cases. Best of all, the patients are thrilled to have this option for their treatment. There is minimal post operative discomfort without any sutures or cutting of the gum tissue. Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you. ,
