My top front teeth are slightly squint and one overlaps would Invisalign solve the problem

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
I was wondering about ‘Invisalign’. I have a pretty bad overcrowding problem. My top two front teeth are slightly squint and one overlaps the other. The same can be said for the teeth directly on either side of these two. My wisdom teeth haven’t grown in yet, and I worry that I’ll have problems with that because I can barely feel any roomfor them at all. Anyway, I was wondering if Invisalign could fix this problem with overlapping. I’m nineteen and I don’t want to have to wear a mouth full of metal. I love smiling, but I feel self-concious about how uneven my teeth are. Do you have any advice?

Ive grey post underneath the crown which makes it look bad. How can i match the colour

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
I had two porcelain crowns put onto my front teeth at the end of last year to improve their cosmetic appearance. One of them was over a root canal which was about 10 years old. Recently (about 6 months later) the root canalled tooth underneath the crown broke, so that the entire fusion of tooth and crown snapped off near to the gum (aargh!!!) I went back to my dentist, who replaced it with another porcelain crown and a gold post. But when the post was fitted it didn’t look very gold – more dark grey – and it shines through the porcelain so that it looks a darker colour than the tooth next door. For both the first crowns and the subsequent replacement crown I went to the dental lab for shade matching. The new crown is (I think) a really good colour match, it’s just the nasty grey post underneath making it look awful! My dentist says that since the tooth is already root canalled, if the post ever fails I’ll need an implant and that this is the only way it will ever match my other tooth. Are there any other options to achieve a good colour match without having an implant? Should a gold post be a dark grey colour? And if so, why on earth do they not manufacture pale-coloured posts?! (…maybe a non-toxic pale-coloured metal doesn’t exist) Also, isn’t an implant just a permanent post attached to the jaw bone, and therefore won’t it be dark grey-coloured too? Many thanks for your advice.

I have teeth missing ate the front of my mouth will dentures be able to be fitted there

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
Q.
I have been told by my dentist that I need to have surgery to re-align my lower jaw which I broke 6-7 years ago. It has broken and reset slightly wrong plus I still have roots embedded in my gums which apparently cannot be removed. This means I have to have dentures and was hoping for implants. Please advise as I don’t want surgery but as I have teeth missing at the front of my mouth will dentures be able to be fitted there

One of my front teeth is longer than the others what can be done to make it appear long?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, I just got my braces off and I liked the way my teeth were shapped but the ortho filed my teeth, I thought he was polishing, and now one of my front teeth is longer than the other the centrals I think its called. Is there any way the ortho can make it appear as long as the other, instead of filing the other one short. I really dont like that it is short and squared and the other is long and slightly oval shaped which I like.

I have my caps on my second front tooth and my gums are reciding again what can be done

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi I first have a question. When i was 11 i fell my front tooth came out and was put back in but the second front tooth next to it had to have a root canal at 18 i had it capped, within 6 months gums receded cap were really badly done, second time the caps were ok, but now my gums are reciding again and it does not look pleasant, am still very young, i fear losing my tooth in the process of capping and re-capping,i dont think tooth has a post. I was looking into your surgery and services as now that i can have all procelain cap without the metal plate, but is that a strong solution for a front tooth with root canal, are they as strong as porcelain with metal caps? i don’t want embarassing issues with a cap coming off? Do you provide this service, as i want my confidence back and want to come to someone who is a qualified dentist and a good cosmetic dentist please get back to me, i want to invest in my teeth wisely now that i can. Thank you

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Five days ago I had two fillings in the back which don’t hurt but one i had in my front tooth is causing me extreme pain in not just that tooth but all of the others, I also had a scrape and polish so I thought they would be sore but not to this extreme, I can’t eat or drink anything especially anything cold, but I can’t afford to pay for more treatment if something has gone wrong. I’m worried in case its really serious.

Ive notice that the enamel on my front teeth has worn away is there a way to built it up

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
I have just had my braces taken off and now only have a retainer to wear at night. I hadn’t noticed before but the enamel on my front two teeth and a few of the bottom front teeth seems to have been worn away at the tips. Is there any way to build it back? Also, some of my teeth have wavy lines at the bottom instead of a straight edge. Why could this be? Is there any way of fixing this? In addition to this, one of my canine teeth is particularly large and more jagged than the rest of my teeth. Can this be re-shaped or filed down? Thanks.

I would like to have a bonding to fix the gap inbetween my front teeth can i get it done in NHS?

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am under 18 years of age, and I have a gap in between my teeth; this maybe due to the piece of skin attatched in between it, I believe its called a frenum or frenulum. I would like to have bonding to fix the gap, would this be free under the NHS? And if I was to have the piece of skin cut if I decide not to have bonding, will this get rid of my gap? Thankyou
