Hello Dr Moore. I’m 17 years old and I really need braces because my teeth are rather crooked and bent. Will I still get braces under the NHS for free? Or will I have to pay? The orthodontist where I live says that they only do free braces for patients 16 years old and under, does this mean I will have to pay? And it says on the NHS they cover you till your 18 years old? How many appointments will it take to actually get the braces? Thank you.

I’m 17 And I Need Braces To Fix My Crooked Teeth. Can I Get Them For Free Through The NHS?
Tuesday, May 20th, 2014My Teeth Have Straightened Up But Now They’re Causing Me Discomfort. Am I Eligible For Treatment On The NHS?
Wednesday, August 28th, 2013When I was about 13 several of my bottom teeth began to cross over and I was refused braces by the orthodontist, my tooth then cut my bottom lip and was causing me discomfort so I was referred to a dental hospital where I was refused braces again. I left my teeth and my bottom one’s because they no longer bother me as they can’t be seen when I smile. I used to have a big gap between my top front teeth but last year they all straightened up and my gap closed up, but I worried they would overlap but my dentist said they wouldn’t. I’m 17 now and recently my second to front tooth has gone crooked and slipped behind my front tooth and is aching and causing me discomfort and making me self-concious, I feel it will push my front tooth forward, also my teeth don’t close together properly, am I still eligible for a brace or even a retainer on the NHS?
Where Can I Get Free Treatment So I Can Get My Life Back On Track?
Friday, June 21st, 2013I am a 46 y/o woman whose dental issues have left me feeling completely hopeless. I am unemployed and see no hope of ever becoming employed again because as soon as I open my mouth during the interview I see that look that says I won’t be getting a call back and who can blame them. I can’t smile or laugh, or even attempt to interact with people, I even avoid family functions. The worst part though is the constant pain and inability to really eat. My diet consists of soft foods and even with those I basically have to swallow it nearly whole and have choked a few times and hate the stomach pains that accompany swallowing such large pieces of food. I am extremely desperate, I want to be able to live again and enjoy life. Is there a place that you can recommend that might be willing to give me back my life at no cost since unemployment doesn’t even cover the cost of my rent?
Will Anyone Fix My Teeth For Free?
Tuesday, January 15th, 2013Hi Dr Patel, I am 26 yrs of age, I am looking for a little advice here it goes….My appearance was always very important to me until 2 yrs ago when I was attacked twice by an ex partner leaving me with damage to my jaw and teeth since the incident I have been told I will lose my own teeth as nerves were damaged it has got to the point that I am wishing they would fall out even if I am supplied with standard nhs ‘false teeth’ as my own now look dreadful. There is no possible way I could afford cosmetic dental work so I was wondering if there is any dentists that offer work done in exchange for before and after advertisement pictures. To promote their work to new potential customers. I googled this question and was directed to this site any information would be greatly appreciated thanks

Monday, July 11th, 2011Dear Doctor Verma
I had crown on one of the front tooth that broke down. I have absolutely no money to fix this with the HIGH Lonodn’s prices. I can not walk with my bone exposed for any longer and dental cement or even super glue are not working any more. I need help
Please tel me where can I go to fix my tooth with discount or plan or any other way that is financial possible. Paying £400 is way out of my budget.
Thank you.
My teeth are in a really bad shape, what do you suggest?
Friday, June 17th, 2011hi, my teeth are very very bad, as a young girl i did not get the medical/ dentistry attention that i really needed, mainly becuase i spent time abroad. Now that i am older i find myself unable to pay for the dentistry work i so badly need. I am currently claiming benefits, is there any way i can get the work done? perhaps via an advertising campaign, before and after pictures etc.
i find that due to the state of my teeth it is havin an effect on every aspect of my life and is really effecting my self esteem and confidence. I am currenlty looking for a job but i am concious and very aware of my teeth causing my great anxiety.

Can I have free cosmetic dental work if a student carries it out?
Monday, March 28th, 2011Dear Ms Verma,
I was just wondering if it is possible to get free cosmetic dentistry if you allow a dentist student or practising dentist use you for practising a procedure? I’m only 18, cannot afford the procedure and my confidence is really affected by my teeth.
Thank you for your time,
Yours sincerely,
