How long will it be to fix overbite with retainer?

Q. Hi, i got retainers for overbite in August, and wore them everyday, day and night for about a month, then i stopped after they were tightened because it was too painful, but i decided that im going to wear them again. How long will i have to wear them for my overbite to be cured? Also, i have a gap in my front teeth, and there is no metal/brace on my retainer for that, so i think i am getting fixed braces after my overbite is cured. How long till the gap closes up? Thank you.,

A. It is impossible to tell you how long your treatment will take the longer you wear your retainers the quicker they will move. Make sure you see your dentist regularly so they can check your treatment is working.

What is the cost of clear fixed braces?

Q. Hello, I am wondering if you have an average price for the clear fixed brackets for the upper teeth only. i have been quoted Â£2500 although I asked if this was for both upper and lower and they said yes and although I only want the upper ones fitted there would be no change in cost. What treatment would be suitable to straighten my teeth?

Q. Im 32 and I need to Straighting my teeth. The main problem is the difference between the upper and lower part of my mouth. wich treatment will be effective for me and where should I go 4 that for a reasonable price.,

A. It is difficult to diagnose you without seeing you, if you have a discrepacy between your jaws than the only option is surgery which is carried out in dental hospitals followed by tooth alignment if this is not what you want you may be able to straighten just the teeth ( not the jaws) with fixed braces or invisalign.

Can I get overlapping front teeth fixed without removing teeth?

Q. Hi – my 2 upper fron teeth cross over and I would be interested in getting them straightened. I have never had any teeth removed and still have my wisdom teeth. I am 46. Can this be done without having any teeth removed? And would it be a lifelong correction? My lower teeth are also crooked but I am not so concerned about this. I am a regular visitor to the Dentist and Hygienist & otherwise have good teeth and gums. Thank You for your advice. c,

A. You can have Invisalign or other fixed braces to straighten your teeth, generally teeth do not have to be removed, if space is needed your natural teeth can be reduced very slightly in width to create room. You must have retainers after the teeth are straight otherwise they will move back.

Can braces help to fix fangs but do not want fixed braces?

Q. Hi, I have crooked teeth at the top. I have fangs that have grown down and have pushed my two teeth next to my front teeth back. The fangs are through however my top teeth are very crowded. I’m looking for the cheapest option to straighten my front teeth. I dont want to have metal braces however I would be interested in cosmetic dentistry or invisalign braces. I would be looking for the quickest and ideally the cheapest option available to me. Many thanks,

A. It is difficult for me to give you guidance on this matter without seeing you in person seeing the position and state of the teeth. I would be more than happy to see you regarding this. A. You could look at fixed braces (using brackets are wires) or something removable such as Invisalign. Once the gap has closed you should look at some retainers to hold the new tooth position. Costs with us start from £1399.

Braces available through NHS

Q. I am getting braces and was wondering what was available colour-wise from the NHS. They have all ready booked a date and so I am certain I can get them on the NHS but are ceramic/clear braces available for free? If not, which colours would I be able to choose from or do they not give you that choice? Thanks,

A. I’m afraid the only option is the normal metal brackets on the NHS

Can I get single crooked tooth corrected?

A. I would recommend orthodontics (braces) and fixed braces are usually quicker than removable ones eg Invisalign. They can be fixed on the inside so aren’t visible.
