I am experiencing pain under one of my new veneers, should I be worried?

Monday, November 28th, 2011
Q.

Hi,

I had two porcelain veneers on my canine teeth a month ago. I had a problem with the bite but the dentist did some filing at it all seemed well. However the last 10 days I have been getting pain in one of the veneers, which is sore to touch and also alot of pain moving around that side of my jaw. I went to the dentist and she said i need a root canal she didnt do any X-rays.

Do you think the pain may settle down? The pain comes and goes.

Also wondering why it only started a few weeks after treatment too.

Many thanks

How can I resolve my awful gappy smile ?

Thursday, May 5th, 2011
Q.

Hi

Would the inman aligner be a good option for the gap I have in between my two front teeth? Or should I consider veneers?

I am quite concious of the gap that I have and would like to be able to have perfectly straight teeth and a hollywood smile. In addition, my next two teeth are my k9 teeth and as these have a point towards the end, is there something that I can do about these? can i have them filled down or can i have lose veneers to cover the gaps? I have considered the veneers, but recently came across the inman aligner we seems a cheaper and alternative treatment.

Thanks

What procedures are available to repair or cover filled teeth or replace them?

Friday, December 3rd, 2010
Q.

Hi there,

I am 26 years of age and I have thought about getting porcelain veneers for my 8 smile teeth. I also have quite weak teeth and most are heavily filled. I am getting fed up having to have my teeth re-filled on a seemingly continual basis. I wanted some advice on what procedures are available to repair or cover filled teeth or replace them. I understand that I will loose the sensation in my teeth if I under go cosmetic work on them but that really doesn’t concern me. Thanks very much for any advice that you can give me. An Idea of costs involved for the various procedures available would also greatly help.

Why is my molar filling suddenly painful after three weeks?

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010
Q.
I got a filling in a molar about 3 weeks ago and everything has been fine with the tooth since then. However, starting this morning I have gotten maybe 4 or 5 very quick, sharp, shooting pains in that tooth. They are not brought on by food or drink, and they go away as quickly as they come. Help!!! Thank you,

What would the procedure to have my two big front teeth filed down? Would it cause tooth sensitivity?

Wednesday, November 10th, 2010
Q.
Hi Sunita,my front 2 teeth are 1mm longer than my other teeth. My dentist has told me its not much but because of my face shape and size they seem to look bigger and not in line with my other teeth.I am considering to get them filed, however i do understand that it may cause sensitivity.I want to know whether it will really reduce the size, what the procedure is,will it hurt?and also how bad the sensitivity will be afterwards.Thanx.,

I am concerned about the method of filing teeth for Invisalign. Can you tell me if it is a safe and necessary option?

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Verma Please can you confirm if “filing” teeth is a good (or only) solution with Invisalign? I do not like the idea as I am afraid that: 1. 0.5mm (recommended in my case on 3 teeth) seems a lot and will weaken my teeth 2. Could look very unattractive if any small mistake is made 3. Seems extremely unpleasant procedure Thanks in advance for your advice. Kind regards. Worried prospective Invisalign patient aged 44 years old,

Can I get my front two teeth shaved down slightly?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010
Q.
I had braces to straighten my teeth but I am still not happy with them as my two front teeth are longer than the teeth beside them. Is there any type of treatment where I could get them shaved down slightly?,

If I were to have my large teeth re-aligned would they have to be filed down too?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010
Q.
My two front teeth are rather large and, due to sucking my thumb when i was a child, stick out slightly further than the rest of my teeth. My question is, if i had them re-aligned, would i also then need to get them filed down (if this is possible?) or would they just have to be removed from the start? Regards,
,

I’m thinking about having my crowns replaced, would the dentist have to file of more of my teeth?

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010
Q.
I am thinking of having old crowns replaced after 20 odd years.because they look very dull. Would the dentist have to file off more of my teeth when old crowns removed, or not necessessarily? Apart from the dullness of the crowns I am having no problems with them. I just thought all ceramic ones would be an improvement and have amore translucent look but not at the expense of having any more of the teeth filed off. Thanks in anticipation,
