Hello. My 14 year old son has a lot of overcrowding, which requires 3 teeth removed, his upper k9 teeth are very high up in the gums, and to complicate things further, he has one upper front tooth missing and currently wears a denture plate. His orthodontist has suggested braces for 2 and a half years, and pulling the teeth next to his missing tooth into the gap, and after braces are off capping the tooth that was next to the missing front tooth to make it look like a front tooth, and capping the k9 to make it look like the tooth that has become the front tooth, but doing this will leave my son unable to wear a denture and live with a gap and then a small tooth in the gap until its capped after the 2 and a half years, is this the only way to deal with this problem? Could braces not be used to straighten the teeth but leave a gap for him to continue to wear a denture and then at the end of the treatment to straighten, the denture be replaced by an implant? My son is devastated by the prospect of revealing that he has a false tooth to his peers. Regards.

Could You Tell Me Whether My Son’s Orthodontist Has Given The Right Course Of Action?
Tuesday, July 29th, 2014I Have A Loose Front Tooth. Would A Cosmetic Dentist Be Able To Give Me A Bridge Instead Of A False Tooth?
Tuesday, April 8th, 2014Hello Dr Hughes. I have a question for you that I hope you can help me with. I have a bridge on the right front part of my mouth. The false tooth on the bridge is next to my big front tooth. Now I have a loose front tooth on the left side of my mouth next to my big left tooth. My NHS dentist said I cannot have another bridge and would have to have a false tooth instead. This is something which I really don’t want. What I want to know is: would a cosmetic dentist be able to give me a bridge instead of a false tooth? Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Is £2000 Too Excessive For A Bridge? Is There Anything Else I Could Have In My Price Range?
Tuesday, March 4th, 2014Hi. My dentist has quoted me £2000 to have a bridge fitted for (2 teeth). This seems excessive. He told me it’s not available on the NHS. I have a gap that is awful and it affects my smile and my confidence. I currently have a false tooth plate with 2 teeth on, but the teeth keep breaking off the plate. I can’t afford this as I only work part-time, I am a carer for my husband. Could you please advise as it’s really getting me down.
I’m About To Lose Two Teeth. I Would Like Some Information On The Options Available To Me. What Can I Have Done?
Monday, January 27th, 2014Hi Mark. I have got a false tooth glued to my natural tooth and now this is falling out so I will loose 2 teeth right at the front on the top row. What options do would I have to fix this. I do not want a pallet, I have one sturdy tooth left at the side of the one that which is coming out and the other side is bridged. I have private care and I am going tomorrow but I would like some expert advice so I can at least ask the dentist on what choices I have. I am 51 years old and I have looked after my teeth but I have got receding gums. I think this is where the problem lies, I am a smoker and this is probably one of the biggest causes of my problems. Thank you.
I Have A Crown With A Post That Keeps Coming Loose. What Is The Best Way To Get This Fixed?
Wednesday, August 14th, 2013Why does my crown with a post keep coming loose? It is about 11 years old and I have been to my dentist at least 3 times in order to have it glued back in. It is a front tooth with 5 more crowns next to it, all of which are fine so I just wondered if it may be the case that the crown could be glued in stronger? I would be very grateful for your advice as I am getting to the point of thinking about having it removed and having a false tooth fitted as a replacement.
What Is The Approximate Cost To Replace Two Front Teeth Implants?
Wednesday, April 24th, 2013I currently have 2 implants for my 2 front teeth that I had put in almost 7 years ago.
One of those teeth however has become loose.
What is the approximate cost to replace the false tooth itself or have it refitted?
The tooth itself from my own external examination reveals no damage.
Would this require a new tooth completely or can this existing tooth simply be refitted?
I am obviously looking to keep costs as low as is practicable! I have noticed that prices for this type of work has changed quite considerably in the past few years so would like an idea of how much I would need to save if I needed the whole tooth replaced. Thank you for your time, kind Regards.
What is the best bridge cement?
Friday, March 4th, 2011 I have an old bridge (ie false tooth with metal flaps).
First fitted 15 years came out recently and my new dentist has fitted it now 5 times using 1 cement mixture.
He says i need a new modern bridge but costs are expensive.
Is there a certain type of cement i can ask to be used in future.
