Hello Dr Patel. I had a hole in my tooth and one day I got severe pain like lighting bolts. It came back 3 times. This pain is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. I have had the tooth removed but I am scared it could be trigeminal neuralgia. The pain was so bad that I cried. I asked the dentist about this pain but I am not convinced they really understood the amount of pain I had suffered. I have not eaten anything really substantial for 3 weeks now and I am losing weight. I cant go anywhere on my own for fear of this pain. I had my tooth taken out and have not had it since. I am still not convinced it has gone though because it only happened 3 times in 4 weeks. What do you think this is? Thank you for helping in advance.

What can I do about having a tooth extracted – thus being unable to wear a bridge?
Monday, March 28th, 2011I am 66 years of age and have a 6 bridge covering the front teeth due to a cricket accident many many years ago. I have now been told that a tooth under the bridge has bad decay and needs to be removed making a bridge impossible. I am uncertain as to the best way forward based on options, appearance and cost. Any advice would be appreciated.

Should I have Invisalign treatment to shrink the gap where I had a tooth extracted?
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011I had gone through orthodotics treatment when I was around 14-16 years old, and at that time, my 4 pre-molars were removed.
Currently, I am 33 years old, and I recently got my lower left lateral incisor removed due to infection. My dentist suggest me considering invisalign treatment.
Please can you advise if this is an appropriate treatment for me (as i have orthodotic treatment before.)
Thank you very much.
Can you advise what can be done about a gap between wisdom tooth where food gets stuck?
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011I have a small gap between a wisdom tooth and the adjacent tooth where food particles get stuck nearly every time I eat and it is uncomfortable and very irritating. A secondary problem with the same tooth is that food also gets stuck between it and the gum (on the opposite side of the gap). My dentist says the only solution is to extract the wisdom tooth. Can I do anything less dramatic such as dental bonding? I carry a 0.5mm TePe Interdental brush with me that helps keep my sanity but far from solves the problem.
