I Broke My Bridge Recently And I Need A Denture. I Would Like To Know How It’s Going To Work For Me?

Wednesday, January 15th, 2014
Q.

I had dental bridge with on 3 teeth in my upper front. I have had this for about 10 years without any problem but today I went to bite into an apple and the bridge broke. My dentist said I can’t have another bridge and that I need to have dentures but he didn’t explain anything to me. I would like to know what kind of dentures I would be getting? All he said to me is not worry and that he would make sure they will look good. Now I’m not sure if I have to take them out every day or can I keep them all the time without taking them. Will it effect me when I eat or talk? Will you be able to answer my questions?

Why has one of my teeth stopped growing?

Friday, February 15th, 2013
Q.

Well, to pout the story to you, I’m twelve years old. My teeth have grown perfectly but this was until one stopped growing completely. What has happened to cause this? Is it bad for you if this problem remains? Hopefully it’s just taking time to develop. I haven’t asked anyone about whether or not this is a bad thing for my dental health. Will I be needing oral surgery to correct the problem and rectify my smile? I still have some baby teeth remaining my two front teeth came out fine. I think the tooth that is not growing is my eating tooth. Its on the top.On the left side it fell and is now growing. But my right side isn’t. Is it because my left side is taking the time to develop? Could you please advise me on this situation and tell me what steps I should take, Regards.

I’m considering Invisible braces but I have a gastric band and this affects what I eat.

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010
Q.

Hello,

I am considering an invisible brace but i am unsure whether it will work. I have a gastric band which means i eat very little at a time but i eat up to 8 times a day. it doesnt take me long 10 mins max each time but this would mean i would have to remove my brace up to 8 times a day to eat. Will this be ok providing i put it straight back in and i ate as quickly as possible.. Or would it be no good for me? Could you be discreet about my question please as it is a sensitive issue for me.

Thanks for your help.

How long will it take to get used to my new bridge?

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
Q.

Hello Doc.
Last week I had some bridge work done to replace a 2-tooth lower plate, which I’ve lived with for over 20 years, but which was becoming irritating and ill-fitting. The bridge looks fantastic, but feels very unwelcome in my mouth and I’m starting to panic that I’ve made the wrong decision by having this work done. All I can feel in my mouth is this bridge; eating has become a depressing affair, since the bridge feels like its dominating my taste buds. Will this discomfort subside? How long should I wait before deciding to have the thing removed? Please help!

At least 3-6 months

What emergency measures can be taken to ensure that I can keep my front tooth?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki Over the years, I have had two crowns on my upper left incisor. There isn’t very much of the original tooth left. The tooth is now weak the crown is loose. My dentist thinks the root may have softened over time. The post in the crown is not broken. My concern is about the whole thing coming apart before I can start my treatment in 1 to 2 weeks. What emergency measures can be taken to ensure that I can keep my front tooth? Many thanks.,
