I’m considering Invisible braces but I have a gastric band and this affects what I eat.

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010
Q.

Hello,

I am considering an invisible brace but i am unsure whether it will work. I have a gastric band which means i eat very little at a time but i eat up to 8 times a day. it doesnt take me long 10 mins max each time but this would mean i would have to remove my brace up to 8 times a day to eat. Will this be ok providing i put it straight back in and i ate as quickly as possible.. Or would it be no good for me? Could you be discreet about my question please as it is a sensitive issue for me.

Thanks for your help.

How long will it take to get used to my new bridge?

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
Q.

Hello Doc.
Last week I had some bridge work done to replace a 2-tooth lower plate, which I’ve lived with for over 20 years, but which was becoming irritating and ill-fitting. The bridge looks fantastic, but feels very unwelcome in my mouth and I’m starting to panic that I’ve made the wrong decision by having this work done. All I can feel in my mouth is this bridge; eating has become a depressing affair, since the bridge feels like its dominating my taste buds. Will this discomfort subside? How long should I wait before deciding to have the thing removed? Please help!

What emergency measures can be taken to ensure that I can keep my front tooth?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr Solanki Over the years, I have had two crowns on my upper left incisor. There isn’t very much of the original tooth left. The tooth is now weak the crown is loose. My dentist thinks the root may have softened over time. The post in the crown is not broken. My concern is about the whole thing coming apart before I can start my treatment in 1 to 2 weeks. What emergency measures can be taken to ensure that I can keep my front tooth? Many thanks.,
