Hello. I currently have three missing top right teeth and have a denture, but it’s making me gag and I’m finding it very hard to eat and drink. It is also rubbing on my supporting teeth and making holes. I brush twice daily and have a healthy diet. My teeth are making me very depressed and my dentist isn’t very supportive. I have always had a fear of the dentist and when I lost my first adult tooth I was brave and went to a dentist. At first he was friendly but now I feel that he just does what he likes with my teeth and he doesn’t listen to me and about how I feel and what I want my teeth to look like. I am currently out of work so I understand some things are not available on the NHS but it is causing me serious depression and my children keep asking me why I have funny teeth. I never smile in pictures or want to talk to people, this has caused me to be come very un-sociable.

Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 Hi Mark. My NHS dentist recently said I should consider going private for a full mouth restoration. I have severe sensitivity and loss of enamel. I have lost many teeth and struggle now to hold my top dentures in. How much roughly, ball park prices would I be looking at to have it done here rather than abroad?
With I think up to 20 implants in Hungary for example would be around £10,000.
What would it be here?

Will My Dentist Fit My Temporary Dentures Straight Away Or Will I Be Gummy For A While?
Friday, February 14th, 2014Hello Andrew, I’m getting dentures fitted soon and I’m also having my remaining teeth out and I’m worried I will be left all gummy for a while. Does this happen? I understand that I may get temporary wax dentures to check the fitting is correct and that the finished dentures will be acrylic. I’m just paranoid ill be Mr Gummy for a while. I would also like to know if the temporary ones are going to hurt or be uncomfortable at all? Thank you.

Wednesday, January 15th, 2014Hi Dr Hughes, I require either a denture implant or a denture/plate fitted, on recommendation of my own dentist I would like to know the cost of an implant for a front tooth? The crown that I already have fitted falls out it has been repaired 3 times in the last 4 months, my NHS dentist says I need a one denture/plate in position where required and will be very uncomfortable and that I may find that I will be unable to wear the denture/plate for 24 hours a day. How Long Does It Take For The Pain To Subside After Dentures Are Fitted?
Thursday, January 9th, 2014I already have full dentures and I would like to know if I should go to the dentist and get them gold plated? How much would it cost to plate all teeth in the denture on both top and bottom with gold?
Other than that cosmetic question I was wondering how long should I be in pain after my teeth have been removed and the dentures placed in my mouth? It has been 3 weeks and the holes where my teeth came out of are still bothering me. The pain I would say is mild but when I try to eat even ice cream I am using my tongue to eat it and when I press against my top denture it is still quite painful. They fit just fine and are staying on very well and I feel the pain where the tooth used to be so I am figuring it is not a fitting issue.

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013I have recently had dentures fitted after a cardiac arrest last year. The bridge was broken and my dentist advised me to have dentures put in. As it was my 5 top teeth, I agreed, and this is okay but I doesn’t quite sit properly. Also using adhesive, I find I choke with it and it I find it very uncomfortable. I did some research and I noticed the mini implant and I need some advice and technical expertise, How much do you think a mini implant would cost for my top dentures? And I also have a loose back tooth, not painful but it can be when I chew sometimes. Can I have it removed if the tooth is okay, and can I have a Nimitz transplant? Thank you, I hope you can help me.
My New Dentures Don’t Fit As Well As My New Ones And Now I Look Goofy, How Can They Be Fixed?
Friday, October 25th, 2013Hi, I’ve been wearing a full top denture for about ten years I’ve just had a new set made and they are much longer than my old set and they also protrude slightly so I look a bit goofy. My dentist just said they would take a bit of getting used to, Is there anything that can be done about this please? Also from the side it looks like I’ve got a badly swollen lip and I can’t talk properly. My last set were made at the same practice and they were great, only my family know I wear dentures as they are so good. Now I look like the donkey out of Shrek. This can’t be right can it? Please help.

Friday, May 31st, 2013Hey there Dr Patel, I have full dentures on top and partial dentures on bottom which are very uncomfortable and loose would like to have a total new look to my mouth if possible. What would you advise? I had my top teeth removed about twelve years, on the bottom there are two front ones and two on each side at back hope you can help as I hate the way they look I feel as though my mouth is not the same would love to get my smile back. As a result of this situation my confidence is suffering quite a lot and it makes enjoying to company of other people a little bit mentally stressful. I look forward to reading your reply soon. My Dentures Are Awful, What Advice Do You Have?
Friday, May 17th, 2013 I had to get top and bottom plates one year ago. I take bad with how false and ugly they are. I cannot bite into anything and have to cut everything up, even toast. I have lost loads of weight because of this. I cannot open my mouth to take a mouthful off a fork as my teeth fall down. They look like teeth shaped out of plastic, are all blended together and not one individual tooth. If I eat any thing even a biscuit my teeth are a mess with bits of food. I cannot eat in front of anybody because of this, therefore can never go out for a meal. I had bad teeth and made a desperate decision to get false sets. I am devastated and would be glad of any advice
