Is it possible to file down my front teeth by qualified dentist?

Monday, November 30th, 2009
Q.
Is it possible to get my teeth filed down by a qualified dentist? The front two of my teeth are slightly longer than the others. I have asked dental surgeons at several practices and they have told me that they do not carry out such procedures. Can you advise on if and where I can get this done?

How can I get my Craze line removed?

Monday, November 30th, 2009
Q.
I have a craze line in one of my top front teeth. It is a long vertical line. It is really noticeable when the sun hits it, or under a bright light. Is there anything to do 2 fix this or is it better to leave it? It bothers me a lot by the way it looks. Also how often do you see this as a dentist? How many patients do you get with a craze on one of their two front top teeth? I know it is common in other teeth I just do not notice it with anyone else. Plus I am just 22 years old. How common is this in someone my age? In the two top front teeth in particular? Thanks for your time!

Dentist drilled into wrong tooth

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009
Q.
Hello- Last week whilst on a business trip in Croatia, I developed a very painful abscess. I needed urgent dental treatment to release the pressure so that I could take my flight home that same day …. I saw the Croatian dentist on the Friday morning and travelled home on Friday afternoon, still in a lot of pain. I went straight to my own dentist on Saturday morning where I was told that the Croatian Dentist drilled into the wrong tooth and now as a result, I need TWO root canal fillings. Do I have any rights here or any recall? Many thanks.

My dentist is going to cut my cap into four pieces to remove it, is this correct?

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Q.
Hello, my dentist done a cap on my tooth a year ago, but it was the wrong size, it has recently started to smell and cause me some discomfort. When he put the cap in the dentist filed the tooth below, is this good practice? Also he didn’t remove the nerve in the remaing part of the tooth, sould he have? I have now been informed by my dentist that it needs to be replaced (me footing the bill!). I am about to book my appointment, and am concerned about the dentists experience, he said that he will cut the cap, that’s already on my tooth, into four, for removal. Does this sound right, because I am very concerned about the remaining part of tooth underneath. Thank you

Should wisdom teeth be removed?

Thursday, November 12th, 2009
Q.
Doctor, my 26 year old daughter has a couple of wisdom teeth growing out crooked, but there is no problem yet, except slight soreness every few months. My questions are: 1) Would you advise these to be removed at the earliest, or to wait and see if they actually give more trouble? 2) Should all wisdom teeth be removed in any case, whether they give much trouble or not? Thank you for your help.
