How Much Would It Cost to Get Dental Implants Through the NHS?

Friday, September 12th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Huges. I am looking into getting all my teeth pulled out and have screw-in teeth or dental implants to replace them. I have had cancer and since then I have finished my chemotherapy and now I have had nothing but problems with my teeth, I brush them two times a day every day and they just keep rotting. I am in pain most the time, and I just want to get it sorted now. I currently don’t work so would have to go through the NHS as I couldn’t pay for private treatment. If you could tell me how much it will cost and how long the wait would be. I would be very grateful. Many thanks for your time.

I Have Been Considering Dental Implants But Find Them Costly? Could You Advise Me?

Monday, August 11th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Patel, I am 54 years old and an ex-smoker. My teeth are mostly bridges, and my question is: Could I have these replaced for a whiter, brighter smile? I have being considering implants so as to have something more permanent, but found them to be very costly. I do understand you can pay monthly which I am considering at a lesser cost to replacing what I already have. Could you advise me? Or do I need to see dentist? Thank you for your time.

I Had Dental Implants Fit In Bulgaria. Now I Can Still Feel The Stitches After A Month. Do I Need To Go Back?

Tuesday, July 15th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore, I recently had full implant treatment in Bulgaria, the process was perfect but since then I can now feel the very top left corner of one of the top teeth at the front. I was told about gum recession but I need to know if this can be left for now, or does it need stitching or the tray refitting? Keep in mind I still have stitches in my bottom tray (the thread is supposed to dissolve over the month). I am wary spending any more money (and don’t have the money!) so soon after treatment. Thank you for your time.

I Was Born With The Condition Cleidocranial Dysostosis. What Can Be Done To Make Me Look Like I Have Nice Teeth?

Tuesday, July 8th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore. I am now 46 years old and was born with cleidocranial dysostosis, which affects the shape of my mouth and my teeth. Most of my teeth are filled and I have a lot missing. What can be done and how much to make me look like I have nice teeth? Would the oralift help the shape of my face? My daughter who is 22 also has this condition. I would like to feel confident and perhaps have implants you cannot see my lower teeth as they are low into mouth. Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I Have 9 Teeth Extracted. Would There Be Some Kind Of Payment Plan Available To Have Implants?

Friday, May 2nd, 2014
Q.

I am having surgery done this soon. I’m having all the back teeth have been removed. I only have 11 bottom teeth and have had root canal treatment on 6. I know eventually these will have to be taken out at some point. I have looked after my teeth but right from the age of 5. I was always having work done. I went into hospital at 21 and had an operation on my upper gum resulting to gum disease and this left me absolutely horrified with the result. More treatment was needed resulting to crowns which kept falling out. My last dentist left the practice and I felt let down as he helped build my confidence up but now I am really scared of the what might happen. The only option on NHS is a full denture plate. I am very nervous and worried about this as the feed back I’ve heard about dentures I would like to have implants instead. Would I be able to get them on some sort of payment plan?

How Long Will It Take For Braces To Open Up A Gap For A Dental Implant To Be Fitted?

Tuesday, October 1st, 2013
Q.

Hello there Dr Shaffie, when I was Twelve years old I had braces to open up a space. This space had to be opened up in order to compensate for my missing lateral incisors which had to be replaced with dental implants. Now I am Eighteen years old and have been told there is not enough space in the roots to place the actual dental implant and I have been advised to have even more orthodontic treatment, I am just wondering if I need the braces, then how long it would take to open up roughly 3/4mm of space for dental implants to be placed? Thanks, I really hope you can help me sort this problem out?

My Father’s New False Teeth Are Wobbly, What Sort Of Price Am I Looking at To Get Them Fixed?

Friday, September 13th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Mark Hughes,

My dad had his front four teeth taken out and fitted with false permanent teeth. However, all four teeth are wobbly now and I think they may soon to fall out. He finds it hard to bite on certain foods in the fear it will all fall out sooner. I think they need to be replaced as a good job was not done on them in the first place. What sort of price am I looking at to have them re-done and can they be re-done?

Thanks.

and oh dear now you need 400 words hmm ok I need them doing asap as its getting me a little depressed by not having any teeth. Would I have to pay for this treatment as it wasn’t my fault? Can I get anything done for free because of the incidence?

I’m Fed Up Of My Removable Denture, How Can I Replace My Missing Teeth?

Monday, July 15th, 2013
Q.

I am 41 yrs old, non;smoker, general good health.MY teeth are fine but owing to 15 yr gap in visits to dentist I (According to X -ray image)I now have advanced gum disease which will not respond to treatment,at least at a non specialist level, specialist treatment for me would be prohibitively expensive.consequently the rear molar on either side of the lower jaw has been removed-according to my dentist this now leaves my bottom teeth in a stable state, however 2 front teeth on the upper jaw have also been removed
and the 3 behind the right canine
also have infection beneath them and thus are scheduled for removal in near future.I already have a small denture for the missing front 2 teeth which slides into place without clips but this has to be removed in order to eat any but the softest foods. If all these teeth are removed is any infection
likely to be contained?can you suggest appropriate methods to replace missing teeth which might
be more secure than those I currently use?

My Boyfriend Had His 2 Front Teeth Knocked out, Is He Eligible For Dental Implants?

Friday, July 12th, 2013
Q.

Hi my boyfriend has had his 2 front teeth knocked out playing sports. He is a full time mature student at present and has no savings so feels his only option affordable to him would be to get dentures. Is it true that he can apply for a hc2 certificate which would pay for NHS dental care? Would this cover anything towards dental implants? If not then do any dentists offer affordable and realistic (for that individual) treatment plans over a period of time, even when the treatment is complete? He’s only young and isn’t ready for dentures I feel, plus he would like it if the treatment could blend in naturally with the rest of his natural teeth. I think that a denture may appear bulky and will affect his speech. Can you please offer an advice? Thank you for your time.
