Hello Dr Moore. I need to see a dentist as I have broken a tooth and the sharp edge is cutting into my tongue making it painful whenever I eat. It’s a constant throbbing now and has stopped me from eating. Just sitting here hurts. It feels like a knife. Is it worth going to the hospital for this type of problem? I’m a bit scared of going to the dentist after previous bad experiences. What should I do? I look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.
I am dentist phobic – and I have gum disease – after visiting my dentist today for a scale and polish which I need to have done before I have extractions my dentist informed me that after I have my teeth removed I would have to wait 1 month before getting a denture. I asked regarding immediate dentures and he said no I would need to let it heal. Should I go to another dentist for a 2nd opinion about the immediate denture? I start a new job within 2 weeks and will now probably have to turn the job down even though I was made redundant 6 months ago and it is a good job as I cannot do the job with no front teeth!
I been very frightened of the dentist and I have only been Three times during my lifetime and I’m a 50 year old lady. It’s come to a point when I require some much needed treatment. The last dentist I went to was a lady and said she wouldn’t refer me because I’ve already sat in the dentist’s chair. It’s only my fear of needles that stops me requiring the correct type of treatment that cause my stress and I’d like to know if I can pay to be put me to sleep during any potential procedure and how much this would cost and if this kind of thing is available on the NHS? I’m embarrassed to have to say the following. I’m a 34yr old male who hasn’t attended a dental practise since a horrible nightmare dentist appointment when I was about 10years old. I’ve always brushed my teeth over the years and generally follow a pretty healthy diet although I do prob consume alittle more chocolate than I should at times.lol I’m not overweight or nothing though and am train at a gym regularly. A few years back while on hol my tooth cracked, I never did anything about it due to my fear. Since then I’ve had 3 teeth crack and all are at gum line. I have a 4th that is partially cracked but I’m sure this will also fall out. I’m so scared but I know enough is enough and I need to seek help. I have some loss of enamel on front teeth but no cracks or nothing. I have quite alot of tartar behind front lower teeth but not upper ones. I have some occasional pain but nothing to significant. I would like some advice in my best way fwd and if you think I’m going lose all my teeth.

I have two crowns fitted at the top of my mouth which are next to each other the right side of my two front teeth and they both keep coming off from time to time and I either swallow them or manage to get them in time I would like to know what would be my best option replace them with crowns, bridge or a plate. I am a nervous patient and want the simplest answer to this. Without too much work going on in my mouth.
