I have veneers on my front upper teeth, but one is a crown. Within a short time, a dark gum line appeared. I want to change the crown for an all porcelain crown as the one I have has a metal core. Will the process damage the veneers either side of it? I had the work done in 2009. I live in London and would like to find an expert in cosmetic dentistry to advise what is best for my situation. My usual dentist is very good, but he does not specialise in cosmetic work.
Hi, I’m 18 and have horrible social anxiety and agoraphobia due to my confidence about my teeth. They are horrible and all need replacing.This all cam from lack of brushing as a child and the problem grew, what’s the best way to do this? I fear I can never have a normal life in this modern day with my smile or lack of, being 18 I am not rich and don’t a lot of money. Any ideas? I would do anything but I can’t find anything about pricing for this as it’s pretty unheard of and it’s ruining my life.
Currently my front four teeth are gone and the bottom ones are all out of line and the gum line is going down. I really hope you can help me figure out what I can do to get a new smile and hopefully get a life back again, I’m starting to lose hope.
Hello. I’ve had braces and my teeth are straight, but I chips in a few of my front teeth. I also have some discolouration and towards the end of the tooth it’s almost transparent, I think this may be due to enamel wear as I drink a lot of Coke. I’m looking to get cosmetic dentistry to fix this, but what would be the best option for me to get this fixed without getting veneers or completely replacing the tooth? Thank you.
I’m a 20 year old male and when I was younger I chipped my 2 front teeth, about 5-6 mm from the inner side of each tooth creating a small arch in the centre of my smile. I’m looking into the options I have to fix this. I’ve researched dental bonding and and composite veneers and would like any information on my options and what you as a professional see as the best option for me.

Is it normal for crowns on my two front teeth to feel and look thicker than my adjacent natural teeth? These are my second set of crowns. They’ve always felt rather bulky. They were done about 13 years ago. I do have an overbite. Could this be why they seem to stand out when I smile? I would like to have them replaced, however I’m afraid the look will not be improved. Both times these crowns were done by dentists. Is it better to go to a dentist who specializes in cosmetic dentistry? I am hoping that cosmetic dentistry has improved since my crowns were done.
Hello. Can I have veneers over my 3 implants? I’m not happy with my smile, I have a very small mouth and a crocked smile. My teeth don’t show much at all when I smile. I have paid £7,000 for implants at my dental practice in York. Hope you can give me some advice on this as I expected the results to be better than this, the implants are my upper 3 front teeth. I also, after 3 years, still get a numb feeling in my nose above the implants? Many thanks.
Hi. I have just finished my forth session of deep cleaning because I have bad bone loss, due to this my front teeth have changed shape. The tooth next to my front tooth has turned and left a big gap. The dentist I’m with says the only two options I have are a plate with a single tooth on or a bridge, but again the tooth will still be pulled until the bridge can be fitted. Is there a way of having a veneer, cap or crown on the tooth rather than it be pulled? I do not want a plate. Thank you.
Hello Dr Hughes. I am looking to whiten my teeth, how much would that cost? My teeth are quite yellow and they are embarrassing. I don’t ever smile because I don’t want anyone to see them. I’m looking to whiten all my teeth so I am able to show them off to everyone. I have 2 or 3 broken teeth and it hurts when I brush them. I need advice please. Hey Dr Hughes. I have really horrible teeth that make me feel very self-conscious. The ones next to my front teeth stick out and it’s irritated me for years. My dentist made a mistake with previous treatment and tried to charge me a lot of money to fix them, which I couldn’t afford at the time as I was only young. The appearance of my teeth makes me feel very insecure and I dream about having the perfect smile so I can feel more confident in myself. Is there any way I could be able to get some help or guidance in the right direction?
