I have receeding gums and sensitive teeth.eg eating icecream one day is fine the next terrible pain. always have sensitve teeth even when i have not ate or drunk anything for a couple of hours.wake up in the morning sensitive teeth not painful but pain always in the background. dentist told me my brushing is perfect but i have to admit many years ago i use to scrub my teeth very very hard hence why they are probably the way they are. hospital told me to see my dentist soon so that he can put something on my gums and use a type of light on them which will happen in a couple of weeks then back to hospital in october to see how they are. hop you can help as i want them whitened.

Hello doctor can you use veneers to correct a problem overbite – I have been advised to have 6 upper veneers and 8 lower venners and to have all the work completed at once ( in a series of visits) as the dentist would be correcting a very problematic overbite and grinding problem. Surely, with this kind of problem would veneers on the front lower teeth be advisable in the first place? and what options do I have for improving the appearance of the lower teeth and to stop the wear ffrom the grinding?Many thanks for your time

I just had a lot of work done to my teeth about 2 and a half weeks ago, including 9 crowns in the front on the top. I went out of the country for all of my work and crammed the whole process into a 12 day span. The temps made my gums very irritated and inflamed, so irritated in fact that they had to re-do 2 of my crowns because my gums receded so bad. So now that I have my crowns in, I’m having problems with my gums, and worried they will recede again. Maybe I’m just paranoid… I’ve been taking extra care with brushing and even massaging them. How long will it take for my gums to come down over the crowns and what can I do to help the process? I think I just need some reassurance.

Hi Dr Moore. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in October 2000. Its now 10 years later, and i am totally cancer free, with no symptoms, or any defects, except for my teeth, which is literally falling apart in my mouth. Is this the effect of the radiation and chemotherapy I had, 10 years ago. The problem started about 6 years ago. What can i do, i do brush my teeth and try to keep a good mouth hygiene.

I’ve had problems with my teeth for as long as I can remember. But now things are getting worse. Despite regular brushing and using mouthwash my teeth are quite discoloured and now I’ve also noticed I have 3 loose teeth. I just had my very back tooth capped last year and had gone back to the dentist for my yearly check-up and was told that I had a leaking tooth where it was just capped which indicated decay. Should the dentist be responsible for replacing the cap and the work required to fix the problem. They mention several times how well I take care of my teeth with brushing and flossing so I do not think it was my fault. Please advise, thank you!,
