I Don’t Know Why My Teeth Are Breaking, I’m Scared I’ll Need A Mouth Full Of Implants. Could It Be A Vitamin Deficiency?

Monday, October 28th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Patel. I would really like to know why my teeth keep breaking, could it have anything to do with a vitamin B12 deficiency? I’m finding I cannot afford to look after them. Is there any help I can receive? Top and bottom on both sides teeth have just snapped, I’m finding it difficult to smile and usually I’m a happy person but this is depressing me. My gums are okay though. I eat healthily and never eat sweets but I do indulge in savoury foods. My sister has had gum disease and had to have a full mouth of implants, I’m a bit scared that will be me soon.

I Fell And Broke My Front Teeth A Couple Of Days Ago, I’m Worried My Dentist Wants Me To Wait For Five Weeks. Is This Right?

Wednesday, September 4th, 2013
Q.

Hi Andrew, my problem is that I fell and broke my two front teeth in half five days ago. My lips and face are still slightly swollen from the fall, but I do not have any tooth ache or sensitivity with any of my teeth. I do not know what options I have as my dentist has told me to wait five weeks before getting X-rays. I am worried that this is really a long time to wait and my options may be even more limited. I am 21 years old and would like to keep my natural teeth, depending on their condition I know, but I do not know if five weeks is too long to wait for an assessment. What would my options be regarding treatment and what you recommend?

I Can’t Smile Because Of My Broken Teeth, Can You Help Me?

Friday, July 12th, 2013
Q.

Hello. I have got a broken tooth, which is near the front of mouth so I don’t like to smile at all and this has been really getting me down. I stopped going to the dentist two years ago as my dentist often caused me a lot of pain and left me shaking in the chair which put me off for life. He really scared me and he never tried to ease any of my fears or concerns. He was always so abrupt and almost mean! But I want nice teeth so I can smile and I’m only 22. I am desperate for some help! I was wondering if you could help me?…also do you do finance that I could pay off on a monthly basis perhaps?
I do have bad teeth but I brush twice a day now. I’m really trying to get them back to normal once again. Please help me!!!

Can veneers correct broken, front teeth?

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2012
Q.

Hi, Doctor Moore. Here is my problem, so I have fallen recently which resulted in me smashing my two top front teeth and also a bottom one. I have half of my top two left and about a quarter of my bottom tooth left. I am very worried that these teeth will have to be removed, as they’re obviously permanent teeth this thought really scares me! Can these teeth be saved or is it just easier for these to be replaced with new, prosthetic teeth? I was wondering what my options are??? Any help would really be appreciated. I would like to have veneers, this has been a long time wish of mine, would they be a suitable form of treatment? So I see this as an ideal time to have some good dental work done. Thanks for your time.

How long would a mouth implant procedure take?

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012
Q.

I have a small mouth with a high palate. I have several broken teeth and a phobia for drills. I had a very bad experience at a dentist several years ago and have only ventured near if it was an absolute emergency since then. I have no problems with any other treatment like injections or extractions. I also have type 2 diabetes and am classed as morbidly obese ( 5 feet 1 tall and 15 st 7lbs) . I would need full mouth implants. Is it possible to have a general anaesthetic or hypnosis and roughly what would this treatment cost? Also how long would it take for the whole procedure?

I am worried that my son’s teeth will not develop correctly in the future, what should I do?

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012
Q.

hello,

my 9 year old son got tripped over at school today when he was running and fell on the school playground and hit his face onto the ground and broke a few of the teeths at the front, the front top 2 tooths were broken in half with sharp egdes and a couple below has small pieces broken off too.
i took him to the dentist straight away but had to wait 2-3 hours to be seen and they have placed some tempory filling and also some cream on where his nerves are exposed behind 1 of the front teeth.
they have booked him in again in 2 weeks time for fillings.
will this effect his damaged teeths in future?
will the filling break off and will he need to change his teeths when he gets older as he’s only 9 years old now.
i am very worried, please advise me!

best regards.

Have I made the right choices concerning my damaged front teeth?

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011
Q.

I recently broke two of my front teeth in an accident and so far I have had to have 1 removed as it couldnt be saved and currently it has been replaced with a temporary cap which is attached to 3 post. This tooth that has to be removed currently still has the roots and my denstist has already killed off all the nerves before replacing it with the temporary fixture as mentioned above.

On the second tooth which is one of the two front ones,it broke half way which my dentist has fixed with some filling materials that has covered the broken part. After a month from this treatment, I have had to return to get a root canal treatment on this tooth as it was giving me a lot of problems. My dentist after hearing my description of the pains as well as my xrays had given me two options which was to do a root canal or provide me with some antibiotics for a couple of months to see the reaction. I had opted for a root canal as I thought that down the line I will probably have to get it done anyway as my teeth had broken half way and the nerves had been exposed. Now I dont know if I had made the right decision by opting for a root canal this early and the thought of having to deal with discolorations etc had been really disheartening. Please advise if I did make the right choice, I am awaiting my next round of review so I could get it crowned and I wondering if it is also a good idea to get it crowned this early as the current fixture placed on it is not giving me to much problems.

My last question is this, according to my dentist the tooth that he has removed which I had mentioned above can be replaced with a crown that can attach to middle tooth that I had broken which will also be crowned. he has suggested that I pull out the root and have this procedure done. Is this the same as having a bridge??furthermore I had wanted a post and core done but he had advised against it as there hasnt been much teeth left after he had pulled it out and whatever is left is above the gum line and any post and core treatment will require that they pill off part of the gum to get it done. I had sort a second opinion from another dentist and he had advised that it could be possible to still do a post and core. Now I am confused as to what I need to get done. I want something done so that I wont have to worry about it falling off or giving me any problems in the next few years and so therefore would appreciate any advise that could give me some comfort and direction on what procedure to undertake before I make any decisions. Thanks

My gums are black and tearing away from my tooth, what should I do?

Thursday, August 18th, 2011
Q.

hello,

A part of my gums have gone black and have teared away from my tooth. it is hanging on by a small part and bleeds whenever I touch it. It does not hurt but is very noticeable and annoying to say the least. The part that is black is numb and I sam thinking of cutting it to get rid of it as I am very conscious of this. I do have gum disease I know this and have not been to the dentist for many years and a few of my teeth have broken. I am finding it difficult to find the courage to go to a dentist because I am embarrased by the way I have neglected my teeth but I am geting to a point where I dont think I have much time left to correct or help the problem, I would very much like your opinnion on whst I should do next.

Many thanks
