Dr. Tennet: My 18 year old daughter recently had her four wisdom teeth out. ..we thought. In error, her upper right second molar was extracted and the impacted wisdom tooth remains. The dentist is willing to do what is necessary to make the situation right and is hoping the wisdom tooth will drop and she can wear braces to move the wisdom tooth forward. We are skeptical that this will work and our daughter does not want to wear braces again, especially in college! We have had one expert look at doing a post implant which our daughter would like. The expert’s first reaction was to tell us she did not have enough bone to do this.
We want to pursue another opinion but would like some guidance before moving forward. Could you give us your thoughts and some advice?
Thank you.

Hi i’m 17 and i have multiple gaps in my teeth that are right next to each other my teeth are straight and i have a small overbite(which isn’t a problem), there are 11 gaps in my teeth, 5 in the top teeth and 6 in the bottom, the 4 in the top are the ones I am more worried about. the ones in the top range from 1mm to 3.5mm and they are all next to each other and the bottom gaps are smaller except for a 2.5mm gap between the premolar and canine tooth. My orthodontist didn’t recommend braces because he said there was a high chance of gaps coming straight back and i can’t afford to spend a lot of money on something that isn’t right for me. Is there anything you would recommend i do or look into? I’ve heard of so many things like veneers of all different kinds, invisalign, orthordill and other teeth bands, also i know that some of these treatments are expensive is there anyway i could reduce the cost? i know that it isn’t very likely but, I’ve been wanting to do something about my teeth since i was 14 and i knew the gaps weren’t going away. The main reason i want to do this now is because i’m going to university next year and i would really love to have a more confident smile when meeting new people and making new friends, i dont want to labeled the silent or shy girl because I keep my mouth shut because I’m not shy but my teeth hold me back and have been for several years. Any advice will be REALLY appreciated.

Is it possible to aligned crooked teeth like mine (overcrowding teeth) without pulling one or two teeth, which I would like to avoid for many reasons.

Im already in my 40′s and I recognized my front teeth is getting uglier as it is sticking outside and the side teeth appeared more awkward (push inside). My dentist before told me I have smaller jaw thats why. They suggested before to remove one from both side, to have space. But I could not imagine doing this procedure.

I am embarassed with my teeth, I would like to have it done without getting painstaking surgery or something.I hope even with my age I would still have a chance to have it alinged to boost my self confidence.
What is the best dental cosmetic procedure for me? How much would it cost?

I hope to get the best advice from an Expert.

Looking forward to get a reply soon…

Thank you very much!

my 13 year old daughter has just had brace removed and has been told by our old dentist she could have vaneers ,as she has had problem with many of her front teeth the bottom of her teeth are thicker and yellow ,and children can be really cruel to her ,she brushed her teeth twice a day but kids say she just dont brush ,would you think bonding would be a better choice ??? I have done a bit of research and she is going to see a local dentist tomorrow and she has got her hopes up that they will do something to help her ,i really feel for her because she has had this problem since her second teeth have come through so i am really eager for this problem to be solved at this very sensitive age

                                Hi,

I have a crooked smile but I think the main problem is that two of my teeth are ‘sharpened’ i.e. into a fanglike shape from years of wearing….is it possible to have teeth filing services to cure this?

Secondly I have already undertaken a brace course in my teens, I believe my teeth became crooked after my teeth failed to ajust to my post treatment retainer, in summary I think my smile is now too far forward (i.e. a rabbit smile) is it easy to push teeth back?

Kind regards
