My Gums Are Diseased And A Tooth Is Loose, Can I Get Veneers?

Monday, March 4th, 2013
Q.

Hi iv recently been told i have the start of gum disease and one of my front teeth is loose i have had root canal but dont know what the cause is, as im only 22years old my looks are very important to me and im worried now that my tooth may fall out. This is causing issues with my confidence and is affecting what used to be a very good social life so i really wish to get it sorted, so rather than have a false tooth fitted I would like a front set of veneers as these seem like the best looking option So my questions are Would that be possible? how much would that cost me? Could i get any information on veneers etc/ And where would my nearest clinic be for consultation? Many thanks

Q.

My teeth are so bad that I will not look somebody in the eye when making conversation. I clean my teeth twice daily use the little brushes to clean in between my teeth and they still look terrible. I would like veneers but can not afford them, what do you suggest? I think about my teeth allday, everyday..

Is it possible to make two prominent teeth ‘fit’ better with the rest od my smile?

Monday, March 14th, 2011
Q.

Hi, im just curious what would need to be done as for some time now ive been unhappy with the size of my two front teeth there not goofy looking just quite long and wide. I spoke to my dentist about it and he advised me to get nothing done with them as if i get them shortened etc. they may look odd and will most likely cause me sensitivity in later life. But they are getting me down and im very concious of them all the time, what do you suggest?. many thanks

What can I do about my dissatisfaction with my orthodontic treatment?

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
Q.

Hi,

I am currently having orthodontic procedure – I have finished with my upper invisalign and I am still wearing Lingual braces on the lower. I had an open bite and wanted to get it sorted, I am with a top london practice and only underwent the treatment as i was assured that the open bite would be corrected. I was quoted a timescale of 18 – 24 months for the lingual but has been nearly 3 years now and im really not happy about how it is going, the open bit in my view has not been corrected sufficiently – its now half bite on bit and half open bite. After a bit of reading up I think i should of had ligual on both upper and lower and then had bands applied which (so ive read) will correct minor bite problems..What do you suggest? have ligual applied to the top or is there any other way of correcting this as i am now thinking about some kind of cosmetic dentistry when the braces finally come off (!)… And yes I have posed the question to my dentist doing the work and he sugested cosmetic which i find strange as that wasnt really the idea i had in mind – hence i went for braces. Any comments appreciated. Kind regards,

Whitening has not removed white and yellow blotches on my teeth, what will?

Thursday, February 17th, 2011
Q.

Hi Mark

I have some moderate marks on my front four top teeth. From what I’ve read online I believe that these are a mix of decalcification marks (chalky white marks at the front of the teeth) and fluorosis (a small yellow mark which appears to be further back in the tooth immediately left of centre).

I recently had laser whitening done on my teeth and was hoping the treatment would decrease the appearance of these unsightly marks. However while it whitened the rest of my teeth to the lightest colour on the Vita shade guide, the marks remain prominent and noticeable when I smile.

I’m wondering what to do now because I’m a model and have been told by my boss to get this sorted. I understand that a process called microabrasion can be used to remove the marks from the teeth but that this doesn’t work on marks that are deeper inside. I also understand that veneers are an option but relatively expensive.

I would very much appreciate it if you could get back to me and clarify what my options are and the financial implications.

Thank you for your time.

Could I have ceramic braces placed on my top teeth and metal braces attched to my bottom teeth?

Thursday, November 18th, 2010
Q.
Dear Dr, I’d like to wear ceramic braces, but my dentist say that because when I bite my bottom teeth go behind my top ones, they could damage my top teeth. My question is: should i wear metal braces at the bottom and ceramic at the top? Thank you,
