My Veneer Has Fallen Off On The First Day. I’m At A Loss. Could You Help Me?

Tuesday, July 29th, 2014
Q.

Hiya,
I’ve only had veneers for one day and already one has fell out. I rang my dentist and was instructed to put it back on with clear nail polish.
Although I have done this I am still very worried it will fall off. I am not eating hardly anything due to this. I am very worried the other veneers will fall off soon as I feel the glue is disappearing. I am not sure if this me just thinking this up in my head or it is actually happening.
Is there anything I can do to make me feel more secure with my veneers? What foods do you recommend I should eat, as I am at a loss? Please could you help. Thanks.

My Maryland Bridge Keeps Coming Loose But I’m Reluctant To Go Elsewhere As My Dentist Is Usually Fantastic. What Should I Do?

Thursday, March 27th, 2014
Q.

Dear Dr Hughes. I have had a Maryland bridge (1) wing only fitted recently, I visited the dentist the day after I had it in as the bridge came out, this was then re-bonded. This lasted 2 days before it again came loose, the bridge was again refitted. It’s now loose again. The dentist can’t understand what’s gone wrong? He’s used to another type of adhesive? I need to ring again tomorrow. What should I do? I’m fed up and I have sore teeth, with all the bonding being taken on/off.  He is normally a fantastic dentist? Thank you in advance.

Hi, I Had An Upper Denture Made By The NHS But It Doesn’t Fit Well. Should I Make A Complaint?

Wednesday, November 27th, 2013
Q.

Hi Dr Hussein, I had a upper denture made with the NHS about 2 months ago and to be honest it has never fitted very well at all. I only need to open my mouth at it falls out! My dentist claims I can’t get enough suction and has advised me to use an adhesive, I think she has just made a bad impression and is just fobbing me off. Surely a new denture should be tight. I don’t really want to make an official complaint but am getting to the point here that I may have to. I’m distressed about this and really would like your advice.

I Have A Loose Back Tooth Which When I Chew Hurts Sometimes. Should I Replace It With Mini Implants?

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013
Q.

I have recently had dentures fitted after a cardiac arrest last year. The bridge was broken and my dentist advised me to have dentures put in. As it was my 5 top teeth, I agreed, and this is okay but I doesn’t quite sit properly. Also using adhesive, I find I choke with it and it I find it very uncomfortable. I did some research and I noticed the mini implant and I need some advice and technical expertise, How much do you think a mini implant would cost for my top dentures? And I also have a loose back tooth, not painful but it can be when I chew sometimes. Can I have it removed if the tooth is okay, and can I have a Nimitz transplant? Thank you, I hope you can help me.

My Brand New Porcelain Veneers Seem To Be A Different Shade To My Other Teeth. Will My NHS Dentist Replace Them For Free?

Friday, October 4th, 2013
Q.

I had porcelain veneers fitted 1 day ago on my two front teeth only. Before having them fitted I whitened them and let them rest. Before bonding them the dentist did show me the teeth in the mirror but due to having a shaky jaw it was difficult for me to see. The veneers are an excellent shape and fit, however the colour is slightly darker than the teeth next to them. It’s hardy noticeable to anyone else but it’s all I can see, I’ve spent £1500 with the whitening and the veneers and so expected them to be perfect. I had them done as I’m getting married and wanted a better smile. The treatment was done at an NHS dentist, do you think the dentist will replace them for free? Thank you.
