Would veneers be suitable for my chipped teeth which was caused by acid erosion?

Friday, October 22nd, 2010
Q.
I used to eat alot of citrus fruit as a child and it has left me with acid erosion. My two front teeth are fragile and occasionally chip slightly, however its usually not very noticeable and they usually manage to smooth themselves out eventually. However they have recently chipped again. My dentist says that i have a good set of teeth and veneers may look fake. But i am not happy with them just now and i do not want them to get any smaller, i want them to be smoothed out and lenthened to there original size but to still look like my own teeth. i have had composite bonding but it doesnt last long before falling off and taking away more of my teeth. Do u think veneers would be a good option? if so can u recommend a good dentist in the glasgow area as my dentist doesnt sound confident on doing the job i would like?,

What can I do to restore my confidence?

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010
Q.
Hello! I am 19 year old student currently in full time education but I am very worried about my teeth. I recently had treatment for acid erosion due to drinking orange and other fruit juice, sometimes running it around my mouth. I am also worried about the gaps between my teeth, which puts me off from smiling, especially in photographs because it is visible. I don’t know what else to do or how to treat it, but I found out that the treatments are very expensive and I don’t think my parents would pay for it. The gaps are lowering my confidence and I constantly cover my mouth when I laugh. What can I do?,

Is it too late now to do anything other than remove all the teeth?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
My 32 year old son has severe acid erosion of the teeth. Was treated originally in a Leeds Dentristy School at the age of 16 but was told that treatment needed to be done regularly and would be very expensive. He now has not been to a dentist for years, is very self conscious and this interferes with all aspects of his working and social life. It would be wonderful to see his confidence come back and see a smile! Is it too late now to do anything other than remove all the teeth? Would dearly love to help him sort this out as I think the cost is also putting him off seeking advice. Teeth are now very bad, marked with black spots and seem to be crumbling away. Many thanks.,

My teeth have eroded, how much would it cost to fill in the gaps?

Friday, September 3rd, 2010
Q.
I’ll try and keep this short but i have a bad acid erosion problem on my front teeth. In the past 2 years i’ve been recovering from a long suicide, obesity and depression problem and during that time i was hardly ever brushing my teeth. Now my left front tooth and the one next to it have eroaded and i’ve been sticking a bit of cotton wool into it to fill in the unsightly gap, but it’s obvious i’m attempting to cover it and i desperatley need to find something to do to either fill in the gap or cover the teeth. How much would a procedure like this cost in £ and is there a safe and cheap alternative? Thank you for your time,
,

I’m suffering from a peculier case of acid erosion, can you please help?

Monday, July 5th, 2010
Q.
Hi, i was at my dentist for a concernt on my acid erosion, and she says it has gotten worse, my teeth are now a dark yellow/grey colour . I am 18 years old. But apparently places around my braces had remineralised while other places on my teeth did not so i have a white, dark yellow and grey splotches on my teeth, making them appaear rotten, if they are not already. they are sensitive and she has referred me to the royal school of dentistry belfast. But she says it will take atleast 6 months, she says to my mum that my case is quite perculiar. now i have eliminated all fizzy drinks, sugary foods. From my diet. if you need to see a picture of my teeth to see how sever the condition is then i can send a picture. I asked my dentisr could she just give me veneers or crowns. she said its not appropriate to take away sound tooth. i said well it may be sound tooth but it looks beyond repair, and she says that she could try whitening my “enamel” which in my opinion is only dentin and slight enamel around the edges. and i think the whitening would only highlight the edge of my teeth and still make it look worse. So i am not sure if i should change dentist or not. i would really appreciate you atleast looking at the severity of my condition thanks.,

What are the symptons of acid erosion?

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
My two front teeth appeared to be thinning and therefore appearing darker for the last few months, however recently I managed to look behind my front teeth using a mirror and saw that there is a black mark on each one. Is this acid erosion and how do I get rid of this problem?

Need a need cosmetic dentist in South Wales

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I’ve been reading about teeth bonding as a possible solution to acid erosion. My front teeth have signs of what appears to be accid erosion, although my dentist said there is no problem, but my two front teeth are translucent nearly half way up. Could you please recommend a cosmetic dentist in South Wales (Newport or Cardiff) for me to arrange an appointment to further discuss my problem? Thank you.
