Should I see a cosmetic dentist about the possiblity of dental implants even though I may not be suitable for them?

Q. I have been seeing a periodontist for treatment for gum disease and I asked about implants, she said i would not be suitable for implants due to bone loss. I was wondering if I should see a cosmetic dentist anyway or would it be a waste of money. Thanks for your time,
A. The bone loss maybe too severe to allow implants although the bone can often be rebuilt, perhaps you could get a second opinion from an implant dentist with experience of bone grafting procedures
