Should I replace my missing front teeth with a fixed bridge or dental implants?

Q.
I had a car wreck & had the front top 2 teeth knocked out. I have a Maryland bridge. It lasted about 10 years -the first time it came out. Then it lasted about 3 yaers. Then 1 year. Now I’m lucky if it will stay in for 3 MONTHS. I checked into tooth implants. However, I will need a bone graft. I really don’t want to go that direction. I’ve been thinking about a reg. bridge. But I have a problem with filing down my good teeth on both sides to place the capsa over to hold the missing teeth in place. By filing my good teeth will I have problems with nerves later on? Because there won’t be as much protection; if about 1/2 of my tooth is filed off for the cap to go over. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Your concerns about the fixed bridge option are very valid and in fact the dental implant solution may be your best option of all. This may not be possible without the bone graft so you should consider this option once again. The only other alternatives to these 2 would be tp have another Maryland bridge made or a removable denture

Kind regards

So are you saying a Mayland bridge is better than a bridge with caps over my teeth? If so why doesn’t it stay in now? Won’t this just happen again? The Maryland bridge was replaced with a new one after the 10 year period. Then it only lasted about 3 years. I have changed dentist and now it will stay in about 3 MONTHS! My dentist at the moment wants me to get a regular bridge with the caps over my teeth.
So many dentists do NOT do Maryland bridges. I live at Miami, OK. The last 2 dentists I used- one dentist from Joplin, Mo & one now from Tulsa, OK.
Because of the time laps, I WILL have to have a bone graft for implants. Plus the cost & recovery time from the different steps. I guess I was hoping for another avenue.
