should i have cosmetic dentistry at age 16

Q. Is it possible to have cosmetic surgery such as veneers or even just whitening under 16? I have really bad coloured teeth and Its stopping me from going to school or even going out. I cant cope with it anymore, do you have to be 18??

A. you can have veneers at your age but if you do you need to go to a dentist that knows what they are doing. If they are carried out badly it could be very detrimental to the health of your teeth. Ask you parents to take you to a cosmetic dentist to find out what your options are. There are less invasive treatments that may be available because some discolourations can be cured without veneers. It is very difficult to tell without seeing you.
