Questions regarding braces and overlapping teeth..

Q. Hi, I had braces when i was in high school. they were on for 18 months i think. the top ones were removed first and slowly i started noticing an overlap on my front teeth. In 2008 i had the overlapped tooth filed a little so it wouldn’t look so out of place. have a few questions: (1) will the filing down of my tooth affect the end result should i wish to have my overlap straightened? (2) what would be the most cost effective yet permanent solution which is not obvious? (3) I have fixed retainers on the back of my bottom front teeth (from high school days), are they meant to be there for life?,
A. hi the filling it is probably a composite so can easily be removed if you dedide to have treatment the most cosmetic non obvious solution is clear aligners or invisalign yes retainers can quite happily stay there for life

my 2 year old daughter’s bottom teeth overlap her top teeth and this is causing it to wear away the top 2 front teeth slighthly. Should I be worried at this point, or will they put themselves right when they are replaced with her adult teeth.

one of my front teeth slightly over laps the other, apaprt from braces is there a simpler way to fix this problem, my dentist once suggested possibly filing down and then capping the tooth, is this usually a viable option as having braces to fix 1 tooth seems like a lot of money and inconvenience, thanks.

You could try reshaping the tooth (we call it cosmettic recontouring) on it’s own or with some dental bonding in addition. Veneers or crowns may also be an option but the bonding is usually the least invasive option

Evening I am currently looking into the price of veneers. In the last few years I have had a brace and had it removed however, I am still not happy with my smile. I was wondering if you could let me know of what kind of prices I would be looking at to get this procedure done. I understand that it all depends on the extent of the veneers but I was jsut wondering if you hada rough guide. Many thanks in advance.

Hello, I turned down braces in my childhood, I’m now 22 and my crowded teeth are affecting my confidence so I am thinking about braces. I don’t currently have dentist as I’ve recently moved to Manchester, but I’m hoping you can tell me if its possible to have a consultation and what the costs would involve for different types of braces. Thank you

My daughter has braces for about 24 months. Two weeks ago we noticed that the braces have now caused a mild overbite, can this be corrected?

my front 2 upper teeth don’t line up with nose. right teeth is in center and so the left teeth is a bit more towards left. there is no gap by the way. its like when i smile my right front tooth gets more footage, even when i speak something it appears as if i just have one tooth in center .and even in my photos it shows up really bad . how to fix this problem?

From your description I feel that orthodontic treatment (braces) may be the answer.
