Which Treatment Would Be Best To Correct An Open Bite. Braces Or Dental Implants?

October 7th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. I have an open bite or fish bite type of teeth. My lower jaw teeth and the upper set has a significant gap when I close my jaws together.
The two front teeth are excessively displaced outward.
Either I should take those front two out teeth and implant artificial teeth in the alignment of the other front teeth or use fixed braces to solve my problem.
Either way I need to take two of my teeth out, and I guess implanting artificial will be quicker than having fixed braces for a long period. Which would you suggest?

Good Afternoon! I Want 3 Teeth Extracted And My Teeth Straightened. Can I Get A Price For This?

October 7th, 2014
Q.

Good afternoon! I wanted 3 of my teeth extracted as 2 are broken and 1 has grown behind a tooth which has caused me to be self conscious. I also wanted my teeth straightened with braces and I would like some advice on my canines at the top as I would like them to be symmetrical instead of taken out. I have had issues for many years and I wish to progress my lifestyle and push pass these problems. Would I be able to get a consultation and a price?

I Have Researched PST As A Way Of Correcting Receding Gums. Is This Approved By The Dental Associations Of This Country?

October 7th, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. I have been doing some research about PST as a way of correcting receding gums. My dentist who carries out all kinds of cosmetic surgery, veneers, cerec, implants etc claims to have never heard of it, yet I can see that there are some cosmetic dentists who have been trained performing the procedure in this country. I don’t know whether he just doesn’t want me to go elsewhere for treatment or has genuinely never heard of this technique. It is easy to find it. What is your opinion of it and is it approved by the dental bodies/associations in this country? Thank you.

I Have Epilepsy And As The Result Of Grinding, I Have Broken My Back Teeth. Will The NHS Provide Me With Dental Implants?

October 7th, 2014
Q.

I am 32 years old and have had epilepsy all my life and as a result of continual grinding, I have broke and lost a lot of back teeth. I struggle to chew my food and the last time I was with my dentist I asked for dentures he said I could not get them as the many fits I have increase the change of me choking on them. My only option would be dental implants, but I have looked about and seen the price of them. I was shocked and many people I have asked say that the nhs will not pay for them. I need to know if this is true? Will the nhs pay for them?

October 6th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Hughes. I’m wondering if you can help me? I am 18 years old and I have a milk tooth in front of my mouth which is broken half way down and I was told by my dentist that if I removed the tooth it won’t grow back. I don’t know what to do should I remove it or leave it? Please I need your help or advice. I would be very grateful if you come to my aid. Which cosmetic treatment would help me fix half a tooth?

Can I Have My Teeth Trimmed Down And Would This Cause Any Sensitivity Or Pain?

October 6th, 2014
Q.

Hi Marcus, I am 34 year old, male. My two front teeth are too big for the others. Can the teeth be trimmed without having to wear braces, veneers, a cap and/or crowns? The second thing I would like to know is whether this would cause me any sensitivity problems? I don’t want any sensitivity or pain as I currently don’t have any tooth problems. I don’t want to use braces and would only trim 2 of my front teeth without the use of veneers. Is this possible? Thanks.

Hi There. Is It Possible To Have An Implant And A Crown Put In Immediately After Extraction?

October 6th, 2014
Q.

Hi there. I have an upper premolar (24) that has undergone RCT and has been heavily restored with a composite filling. My dentist felt that a post crown was not an option as in their opinion the tooth would not be able to support it. I am considering having an implant but I am not keen on the conventional method due to the length of time that the process can take. Is it possible to have an implant plus crown put in immediately after extraction (I know that this would depend on bone density and the area being infection free etc)?
Thank you in advance!

Q.

Hi Marcus. Can you give me advice regarding my top teeth?  The two front one’s are going to fall out as I have a hole in the back of one of them. I had a denture fitted about a month ago and I have six teeth left on the top jaw. What can be done to get this sorted out. I’m a very nervous patient and I am so sick of the way this is affecting my confidence. I can’t go out any more and I would be grateful for your opinion my current problems with my teeth. My 14 Year Old Has Two Protruding Front Teeth. Could You Tell Me The Best Treatment For My Son?

October 3rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Mark. My son, who is 14 years old, has his front 2 teeth protruding forward. These teeth sometimes rest and sit on his lower lip. He’s still got 3 milk teeth left to come out, 1 on the top set and 2 from bottom set. His bottom teeth are fine with no gaps in them. His front two teeth look so bad.  He had perfect milk teeth but ever since his permanent teeth have come through, they’ve just fallen out of alignment. Could you tell me the best treatment for my son and how long he has to wait for this? Thanks.

I Have Lost 3 Teeth In The Last Few Years. What Options For Gum Disease Do I Have Other Than Regular Cleaning?

October 3rd, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Gambroudes. I have gum disease and see my dentist every 3 months to have them cleaned. This is having very little effect and I currently have 2 loose teeth. I have already lost 3 in the last few years. What options do I have and what else can be done as no treatment other than the regular cleaning is being offered. I’m at my wits end and just want them all out! I’m worried that I will end up with no teeth. Please advise me. Thanks.
