My dentist says that Lumineers will not work beacuse my teeth are grey and I will need normal porcelain veneers

January 30th, 2008
Q.
I told my dentist I was interested in Lumineers based on research I had done. He said that Lumineers would not work on my teeth because they were a bit grey. He prefers using a local lab that would make porcelain veneers that would require removing a significant amount of tooth matter. My question is does the Lumineer product cover grey? Should I get a second opinion? K

Are dental veneers as strong and lasting as normal teeth ?

January 30th, 2008
Q.
Dear Dr. Patel, Even though I am not in the UK I hope you will find the time to answer my question. I am considering veneers for my front teeth as they are discoloured due to childhood tetracycline treatment. Additionally, my teeth are frequently affected by cavities and appear not to be too “strong”. will veneers have the same binding and lasting properties on such teeth as they would have on regular teeth?

I dont have supporting teeth for a bridge and dont want an implant is there an alternative to a denture

January 30th, 2008
Q.
I have a gap that I’d like to fill. My preference is a bridge but there are no supporting teeth on either side. An implant seems too invasive. Is there any other alternative other than dentures? Thank you. JP

The bone supporting by front teeth is wasing away Can I have a bridge or dental implants

January 30th, 2008
Q.
I have had been told by the Roayl School of Dentistry in Belfast that the bone supporting my two front teeth (both crowned due to injury as a child) is wasting away. I don’t know where to go from here as I would like to have either a bridge or implants …. probably a bridge as it would be less expensive. Would this be feasible ??
