One of my front teeth is crooked what is the cheapest and best option I dont want braces ?

Q. Could you advise? i have pretty good teeth except my front two one of them is crooked. i definately do not want to take the route of a brace, therefore what would be the most effective and cheapest path to take? L.P.

A. Dear L.P.,

Thank you for your question. There are 2 ways to straighten your front teeth.

The first method is with braces. I mention this, although you have said you are not keen, as minimum adjustment of your teeth are necessary to get a great result. Are you aware there are ‘ invisible ‘ braces that are made out of clear plastic? A succession of these are made that gradually move your teeth to the correct position. The down side is that the treatment can take from 6 to 18 months and there is the possibility of relapse if a small metal wire is not bonded to the teeth behind them to permanently hold them in place.

The second option would be veneers either made from a plastic material (composite) or from porcelain. I would advise to get the best result from a long term and colour stability point of view that you opt for porcelain veneers. From a cost point of view plastic veneers are cheaper but the fact that they are not as permanent as porcelain veneers would make me choose porcelain veneers. In fact I have porcelain veneers on my teeth ( and yes I had to pay for them just like any other patient!).

Hope this helps.

I needed braces when i was younger, But opted out ! My two front teeth stick out like vampire teeth. I get so depressed about them that I’m thinking about pulling them out! I work part time so i can’t afford to pay for them ! I’m 18 so is there anyway i could get them free?

    Thank You

    Hi,
I should of had a brace fitted as a teenager but opted out, i’m now 47 and wish i had. Is it too late? My front top four teeth stick out. Also is it possible to have veneers fitted on guffy teeth instead?

Hello I have been looking to get the veneers done I have had a brace but I just wish my teeth were white and my vanks to be more in line with my teeth i have 2 vanks how much would this cost? I don’t know if my teeth need it as I am only 21 but I would love to have gorgeous teeth and my vanks are my problem so my question is how much would it cost to sort my 2 vanks out and does it hurt and how long does it take?

hi i was wondering if you do instant veneers ? if so then what are the prices im very interested been looking every cant find any where local ?

  8. Ahmad says:

The instant veneers are done with bonding composite which isn’t as durable as porcelain or by cerec using porcelain but this doesn’t allow optimal cosmetics and a 2 stage process is preferred. Even if you have bonding this is also preferable in a 2 stage process if more than 2 teeth are done as most dentists would want to do a mock up of the how the teeth should look before they do anything as a template. Composite bonding is cheaper than porcelain but is not as durable.

Hi, My 2 front teeth are protruding forward – in a slant angle. Only the 2 front teeth on my upper jaw are protruding forward. I was wondering if I could get porcelain veneers to correct this or if there is another faster method of correcting this. My teeth are generally healthy, I just want a straight smile for a confidence boost. I want something very natural looking so it blends in well with the rest of my straight teeth. Thanks

Hello Porcelain veneers may be an option, so might bonding, or the best thing from a health perspective may be an orthodontic solution. In order to give you an accurate diagnosis and appropriate solutions please try to arrange a consultation with a good cosmetic dentist or orthodontist in your area Kind regards
