My veneers appear grey in colour when I have a photo taken, why is this?

Q.
I have veneers on my four front top teeth. I originally had them just on the top two teeth (one is dead route canal filled, knocked out when i was younger on a trampoline with no padding) the other front tooth was chipped when i was younger. When i was 29 i got them redone and my top front teeth made smaller (as they were large) and i had my other two done, to make it better.
They look great to look at, but when i have a photo taken and smile with my teeth showing they seem to come out a grey/black colour – is there anything that can be done to my teeth now? Also is it possible to now wear a brace to straighten my teeth now? i was told because i’d had route canal on my top tooth i wouldnt be able to (40 next year)
Thank you
A.
Thanks for your enquiry. The grey black colour may be something to do with the root canal treatment, as this can very often result in the tooth underneath darkening over time and transmitting a drak colour through veneers and crowns. It amy also be just the type of porcelain used for you veneers may have this ‘greyish’ hue?

We can often bleach the inside of a dark root canal treated tooth to remove the greyness. Sometime this can be done without haveing to remove and old veneers. Here is an example of a case where my colleague Richard performed the treatment:

It is possible to straighten your other teeth – there are many ways to do this quickly and /or ‘invisibly’ these days. If the root canal is not infected and looks healthy then this tooth could be moved theoretically.

Please come for a consultaiton so we can investigate properly and come up with some treatment solutions for you

Kind regards

Hi there I went to a dentist in Spain,i was fed up with the metal of my bridge and posts in my mouth, My canine teeth were in good condition so I wanted a 6 unit bridge instead of the crown which i always get infections ..along with an old 3 unit bridge…now, i was thinking he would use my canines for fixing a bridge to and extract my bad crown(rootCanal) and original brige(3unit) but now because of my stupid trust in him, at the end of the treatment he has only gone and filed down my canines put crowns on them, and the original crown has been replaced with the same old post underneath…now i have a noticable grey shadow at the front ..gutted any advice? ..what can i do?..I want what i asked for…I paid £2500
