My upper and lower teeth are discoloured and transparent, what should I do?

Q.
Hello.

I am 21 years old and my upper and lower incisors are half transparent. The bottom part of the teeth have minor (but obvious) ridges as well. Furthermore, my canines are starting to turn a yellowish color whereas my incisors are still moderately white. I was wondering whether I should get my teeth whitened so that my teeth atleast have the same color.

Would you suggest that keeping in mind the transparency of my incisors?

Furthermore, how can I get rid of or fix the transparency? I don’t want my teeth to gradually erode!

A.
Dear Enquirer,
Teeth whitening is a good first line of action as you can improve the colour of your canines. The greyish colouration of your central teeth will still be present if you have thin enamel in the front incisors.
One way of treating the transparency is to have composite/porcelain veneers placed on these teeth, but you will require an examination to explore all the options.
I hope this helps,
Sunita

Hi, I have very thin teeth, and am considering having lumineers fitted, asopposed to veneers, as I like the idea of veneers, but find the appearancefar too thick, and don’t want to go down the abrasive route. Could you please send me some more information and also what costs I’d be looking at, through e-mail?
