My Teeth Are Discoloured And This Bothers Me. What Are My Best Affordable Options For This?

Q.
My teeth are not the best they are not straight but I don’t mind that but they are very discoloured from medication as a child. My dentist says I have very good health teeth but the colour bothers me so much that I very rarely go out and when I do I try wear something that covers my mouth. I haven’t been in a photo in 2 years because I’m to ashamed of what my teeth look like. And the worst thing I do is mumble a lot so that people don’t see my teeth as I’m talking. It has been a few years now that they have been discoloured and it really effects my confidence when going anywhere because I always think that people are looking at my teeth and talking behind my back about it saying look at his teeth if you don’t brush yours they will turn out like that even though I do brush and floss. I work full time in a call centre so that no one can see my teeth. I do have a okay wage but no where near enough to afford thousands of pounds or all new teeth. So is there anything that could be done through the NHS or anything else?
A.
Hello and thank you for getting in touch. Cosmetic dentistry that is elective is not available on the National Health service. Options for you range from very deep whitening techniques such as Enlighten, to composite bonding and porcelain veneers. You might want to find a practice which lets you cover the cost of your treatment through a manageable payment plan. Try to find a experienced dentist in your area. Regards, Mark.
