My teeth are discoloured and I have no confidence, can you help?
Q.
Hi i am 30 years young and have suffered with discoloured teeth since my adult teeth grew. I was told that this was due to a high dose of penicilin due to having chickon pox as a child. All through my life my teeth have ruled me. I am often thought to be a miserable person due to my inability to smile just incase i show my teeth. I have had extensive work over the years and 4 yrs ago was given the news i had been waiting for over 20 years for – I could have veneers. This was on the basis that i paid for the structural work (even having a operation where i was put to sleep). I worked hard and paid for all my fillings to be replaced with white fillings and the weekly draining of the tooth i would eventually have the operation on. My dreams had come true – I was going to have a smile 🙂 But once i had the structural work done and some whitening i was informed that the dentist who had agreed to my veneers was no longer willing to work any more on my teeth! i was distraught to say the least. I am writing to you to ask if you know of a way i can now get help in the final process. Due to changes in circumstances i am now a student and cannot afford any work on my teeth and i am scared the money i have paid out is a waste. Having to start a new path in life is hard enough but when your first thought on meeting new people is ” i hope they dont look at my teeth” i know they are literally ruling my life. I am not a person to ask for anything but i wish i could get some good advice as to what i can do. Please help me as my confidence is at rock bottom. Again i will say this is not a begging letter but after 20 odd yrs of thinking about it every day i felt i had to make contact with someone.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
