My straight teeth are now crossed over due to gum disease, what can I do?

Q.
Hello Dr Bohara, My teeth which were once straight have moved, the front ones now crossover and their is a gap further back on either ide which is visible when I smile and where the teeth have moved forward and my dentist tells me that this is because I have bone loss and also an element of gum disease. It is difficult to clean my teeth properly now, also difficuilt to eat as I am not used to my teeth as they are.,biting an apple is impossible and I often bite my lip.
Can anything be done to correct this and make me confident to smile again? I am 59 years of age.

Hello and find you for taking the time to send in your enquiry.  I am sure there is a way to treat this but it is difficult for me to say confidently without examining your mouth. If you have gum disease, it is important that this is stabilised by gum treatment first, before you attempt any treatment for your bite.
