My son has large gap between his front teeth Will he be funded by NHS for his braces

Q. Hi my son is soon to go to see a specialist regards having a brace. I am aware though that the NHS are fairly strict on funding braces now and I have a horrible feeling he wont get funding. He has large gaps between his front four teeth and is very self conscious about it. Can you tell me your opinion on how the NHS will view this, and anything I can do to help the situation please? many thanks

A. The NHS do have quite a strict code on who is able to receive free ortho work via the IOTN index of Treatment Needs.
Your son will either fit into this category or not Im afraid, it is not really something that you can influence.
If funding is not granted then private orthodontics would be your next option
