My son baby teeth is still strong without sign of being absorbed advice

Q. Hi Dr Moore, My son is almost 10 year old and today his dentist told me that he may need to pull out two of his baby teeth because the adult teeth are underneath and one of the roots of the baby teeth are still showing strong without sign of being absorbed. I am wondering if the pulling is necessary (a must) because I would prefer waiting for them naturally fall off rather than the manual intervene. Can you give me some advices on which way is the best for my son? thanks

A. If the baby teeth are in a poor position and preventing eruption of the permanent teeth then removal will help. I would follow your dentists advice or ask for a 2nd opinion from another dentist if you’re not sure

My son is 6 and he has his 2 bottom teeth through but his baby teeth are not loose. Will they fall out or does he have to have them pulled. and how long should I wait?

  2. Nicolas says:

Wait for a few years they often fall out a bit later.
