My perm bridge was glued with temp glue because it did not fit and it pains what do i do?

Q. I have a perm. bridge over my top teeth toward the back of my mouth. It was glued with a temp glue bec. it did not fit & the dentist intended to take it off & replace with perm glue (the bite is off). (This is my 2nd attempt w/the same dentist. They took 1st crown off bec. it did not fit and bec. of the sensitivity to hot & pain with a bite.) This bridge feels the same-pain w/bite, sensitivity and now it hurts even more after they recently unsuccessfully tried to take it off. They sent me back home & said to chew something and come back in 2 weeks and they will send it back to lab to add more material to it. I never had any trouble with any of these teeth before they put 1st bridge in January 08. X-ray does not show root inflammation. I can’t chew anything bec. it gives me pain & headache for most of my day and I am afraid to glue this bridge w/perm glue. Please help. I am at the end of my rope… What do I do? What are my options? Do I let them glue it w/perm glue? Thank you for your time.

A. I would ask them to tap the bridge off and get it altered before trying with the softer glue again. If this settles things down, then have the bridge cemented with a permanent cement. If the symptoms don’t improve you may need to consider a new bridge or root canal therapy of one or all of the teeth prior to making a new bridge.
