My Orthodontist Has Recommended Inter-Proximal Stripping. Will The Gaps From This Be Particularly Noticeable?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes. I am currently wearing a 4-4 fixed clear brace but with a metal wire.
My orthodontist has recommended I get inter- proximal stripping.
I am worried as I am scheduled to have this done on a Thursday but have a rather important social event to attend on the Saturday of the same week. Would you recommend getting the stripping done before or after? I wouldn’t want to walk around with gaps in my teeth before hand? Thank you for taking the time to listen to me.
A.
Hello and thank you for getting in touch. If you are concerned then you could wait until after the event – the gaps however will likely be very small and hidden by your brace and wires for the most part anyway. It’s difficult to say without seeing you in person so you should ask your orthodontist. If you’d like more information on orthodontic treatment, you can find it through the use of this website’s helpful guide. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Mark.
